Why do the rear wheels get very hot at hwy speed after only 20 mi?


Replace the rear brake hose/s. They deteriorate on the inside and clog up. Not letting the calipers or cylinders to release. I recommend replacing the front and rear.

Why is the one wheel disk and caliper very hot? on my nissan VQ 35 Rear


rotator may have been machined too much previously and the rotator is know too thin (that is the big round metal disc that the caliper squeezes onto to brake) causing the rotator to not dissapate the heat which will cause the vibration as the caliper overheats during braking.

Back wheel sqeaking and getting hot


The following asumes only one wheel is hot and the e-brake is not engaged or possibly hung up from having been left on while the car was not driven for a while. Up north, BMW (Audi ?) brake disks tend to start rusting after about a week of inactivity. For a hung up e-brake, it is sometimes necessary to go back and forth to break the corrosion.

A hot wheel usually indicates that the brake pad is dragging (i.e. the brake caliper piston is not returning into the brake caliper bore).
A couple of checks: measure the brake disk temperature with a temperature gun on both brake disks of the same axle. If one is much higher, the caliper piston is probably sticking. Can also check for relatively large temperature difference with your hand-just do not touch the metal or you will get burned. Look at the brake disk for evidence of the outline of the brake pad that may have transferred to it indicating a very hot brake disk. Chock the car well, put into neutral with e-brake off, jack up "hot wheel" side and try to spin the tire. If a lot of drag, sticking caliper piston. Caliper replacement or disassembly for a thorough cleaning will probably be required. If this is necessary, you should do both brake disks and pads and consider doing both calipers on that axle depending on age and corrosion condition.

check the level of dot 3 oil in the reserves...remember you replaced the lines and air has gotten into it- ti may take a bit to fill caliper..
if this doesnt work there might be a problem with the brakes fluid dispersion- it regulates the amount of fluid to each wheel...

hi this is normal, nothing to worry about, when you use your brakes the friction makes them go hot, in some cases they are so hot you cant touch the disk/rotor so don't worry..it is normal

How brakes work


the brakes slows the movement of the car then the trans and engine slows with that I guess you know you have brakes on all 4 wheels by braking you are slowing down the wheels

Audi a4 how to remove brake disc


Atention!!!
Don't disconnect any brake line from caliper!
Don't disconnect any ABS sensor!
For change front brake pads you must raise vehicle, remove wheels, extract the retaining spring of the caliper, and remove the caliper as follow: 1. Do not disconnect the brake hose from the caliper, and do not allow the caliper to hang by the brake hose! 2. Remove top and bottom caps (on back side of the caliper) for access to guide pins, then unbolt and remove them from the brake carrier. Remove the caliper. 3. Now you must thoroughly clean the brake calipers (free of grease). 4. Remove outer brake pad from brake carrier. 5. Pull inner brake pad out of brake caliper piston. 6. Remove brake carrier from wheel bearing housing (two ribbed bolts). 125 Nm 7. Remove brake disc from wheel hub. 8. Install brake carrier on wheel bearing housing. Tightening torque for two ribbed bolts = 125 Nm. 9. Check up the brake fluid level on the reservor, and emptying if neccessary! 10. Push piston back into brake caliper housing. 11. Install inner brake pad (with expanding spring) in brake caliper piston. (Arrow marked on pad - if exist, must point in direction of brake disc rotation when vehicle is moving forward). 12. Install outer brake pad into brake carrier. 13. Bolt brake caliper housing to brake carrier using two guide pins. Tightening torque is 25 Nm. 14. Install both caps. 15. Insert retaining spring into brake caliper housing. Important: Depress the brake pedal firmly several times while the car is stationary so that the brake pads adjust to their normal operating positions!!! Check brake fluid level and top up if neccessary!!! Please Rate my Response! Thanks!

LOW BRAKE PEDAL ON 4 WHEEL DISK BRAKES


Check the pads/rotors to see if they need to be replaced.
Check the brake fluid level. If low it could mean the pads/rotors need to be replaced. If replacing also replace the brake fluid.
Two years probably means you need a brake job.

Otherwise you may have air in the brake lines which you can bleed off.

Left from brake caliper sticks at times wheel gets real hot


You brake HOSE may have deteriorated, and is not allowing fluidto drain out of the caliper piston. I found out after a piston, caliper, two disks. The wheel would LOCK UP it got so bad.
