The check engine light is on in my 2009 chevy cobalt the code is P0010.Can I do the repairs or will a mechanic have to?

Your car has a OBD2 hook up under the dash somewhere on the drivers side, You have to have a computer to hook up to that ODB plug and reset it, If you live near a Autozone they will clear the code for you for free, One other thing you try is disconnecting your battery for about 30 mins, that works on alot cars to reset the check light.

disconecting the battery should reset the pcm. but you will need to find out what caused the problems.
