Oil leak at front left light under car .Mazda 6 TS 35 000 miles. What kind of radiator/cooler?is this?

  • alltyfran Apr 06, 2009

I have the same problem. had a look myself and took it to the garage. The o ring that goes from the intercooler to the pipe went.
Let's hope that is the problem. As with the turbo, there is some oil getting into the system, but the seal should prevent any leakage. There hasn't been any loss of performance and no black smoke coming from the exhaust.
    Hope that helps

Hi I have put a new turbo on my mazda 6 diesel. There is no oil leak there is just loss of power as if there is no turbo. It's as if max speed I can get upto is 90. Part from that there car runs g

Since the power generated by the turbo depends on the volume of combustion gas generated, look into your fuel delivery system. Your engine might not be receiving the required amount of fuel. Check your fuel pump, filter, injectors, and lines.

Mazda 6 2o diesel replaced turbo new unit same

There is a oil drain return from the turbo charger to the sump. If the sump oil level covers the outlet into the sump, oil will build excess pressure tin the turbo causing the sealing rings to leak oil in to the intake manifold. This would cause smokey exhaust and loss of oil. Try this. Drain the sump completely, refill with the exact quantity of oil to Mazda spec. Dip the oil and if the new oil level is lower than the full mark on the dipstick, you have found the cause of the problem. Mark this new level with a scriber or file and fill only to this new level. Hope this is the solution.

1. did you put oversized tires on the vehicle, if so that changes the gear ratio and will result in power loss,
2.. the catylitic coverter is plugged, often the coverter breaks apart and the pieces find there way to the outlet pipe and restrict exaust flow .
3. a fuel pump probem, low fuel presure under a load, however this condition will make the eng run lean, and most likey set a check eng light,

Suddenly started running rough like on one rotor as i was driving. heat gauge come on but was not overheating,no oil loss oil pressure fine spark fine no smoke, its a 1990 rx7 series5 13b turbo

ALL RX Engines are a 6cylinder as they have 2 triangle rotors with apex seals and 4 spark plugs but both rotors in both cylinders fire 3 times each and you have 2 rotors 2x3=6 ..Now if you are running on 1 bank which is 1 rotor then the other rotor isent working due to either the RED rubber seal band on either the front or centre housing OR the centre housing or the rear housing, has a leak and it must either be water or oil UNLESS its in the inlet manifold gasket leaking air in or the plugs on that rotor front or back , if the plug gap has closed up or oiled up .as there isent anything else i can think of .which could cause it.
Ihave built a few of these RX motors and they are without a turbo a lovely engine and go like s--- of a shovel get it going and dont get booked for speeding.. Let me know how you get on Ron

My van is burning oil (a lot of it) I just put in 4qt of oil two weeks ago, and again it's empty. What can i do to fix this

First you need to determine if the van is "burning" oil or "leaking" oil. If the exhaust is bluish in color, this is a good indicator that you are burning oil and you probably need a valve job. A common issue with vehicles this age is an oil leak around the valve cover gasket. Oil leaks and burns off on the manifold. If when you open the hood and smell a great deal of oil, this is more likely the cause of using so much oil. The best way is to inspect the engine compartment first. If you can't spot any excess oil there, get under the van and look for a leak near the oil pan, oil plug, or more forward toward the engine compartment. Hope you find this answer helpful. Best of luck.
