I have a 01 that the blower stopped working about a year ago, the original was a circuit board style. This must of been in issue because the new one from Dodge was a completly differant style. I did not find a way to test it other then replace it.

Often when the blower motor resistor goes bad you will loose fan speeds, and maybe not all of them. You may loose the first two speeds, or it could be just the high speed, etc.

Fastest way is by putting an ohmeter across terminals. No continuity, it's bad. Easy way if no ohmeter is to take it out and look at it. There are two or three wire coils on inside... If any are broken, it's bad.

It is -40 today and for the first time ever, my blower motor will not turn on. I have no defrost, no heat. Help!

the fan either is frozen, or it is bad. if the fuses and relay are ok. and there is power to fan resistor. change resistor to see if this is the problem. go to any auto parts store and they will tell you where resistor and blower fan are auto zone etc. if resistor is bad then no power to motor.

Replacing a Blower motor resistor

It's called a resistor block, you can't just change the resisitor, you have to get the block. All it is, is a small circuit board with the resistor soldered in it.
I don't have my manual at the moment, so I can't exactly tell you where it is.
Usually they are mounted near the blower motor on the firewall,
On some the blower motor has to be removed to get at it,
Some are mounted under the dash in the duct work.
Try calling a dealer and ask for the parts dept., they can probably tell you where it is. Just ask them if they can tell you where the resistor block for the blower motor is.

In 2002 Toyota Echo, I need to replace blower motor. There is also a resistor and a ''blower switch'' in a manual, but no explanation of the blower switch. Is this just the 'fan switch' on the dash. ...

blower switch is your fan knob on dash. resistors are located under pass side dash next to blower motor. on alot of cars the blower will work on high speed and not the lower ones- this is a tell tale way to tell the resistor is no good. if this happens again after replacing resistor- ive seen the blower motor shorting out causing the resistor to go bad- then you would have to replace both.(this usually dosnt happen, most often the resistor alone fixes the problem..

I am tring to replace the blower resistor, can you tell me where it is located on my 1994 oldsmobile 98

The blower motor resistor is under the hood.On the back wall. You will see a plastic black panel and it should say fuses and relays.Remove the panel and there will be some fuses and relays.Below the relays and fuses you will find the resistor. There are 2 10mm nuts on each side of the relay center.Remove these and you will see the resistor connector.Remove the 2 screws and pull the resistor up.If your blower motor is not working. Before you replace the resistor try tapping on the blower motor while the system is on.If it comes on then the blower motor is bad.Good luck.

Heater/AC fan only works on High

Bencar1 is right. The problem is probably the resistor. But it also could be a burned terminal in the 4 prong plug that attaches to the resistor. There will be burn marks on one of the prongs of the resistor if this is it. Look for the obvious. Good luck.
