This sounds as if you have air in the system, you will need to bleed it. Take the radiator cap or coolant expansion cap off, with engine turned off, Now squeeze the bottom hose, and the top hose continually until you see bubbles appear ,the coolant level should momentarily rise and then fall when you release the hose, do this to all the hoses ie, heater hoses as well as the top and bottom hoses, keep doing this until no bubbles appear, by this time the coolant level should have dropped, then start the engine and run at tickover until the coolant level stabilizes, turn off engine and top up coolant to the level, refit cap and run to operating temperature. If this does'nt cure the problem the chances are that the system is drawing in air , but thats another problem! hope that helps

SOURCE: 1998 Neon leaking antifreeze

There could be a leak in the radiator or the water pump. Or the overflow coolant bottle but that normally won't drain all of the coolant. Fill up the radiator when the car is cold and start the car and keep an eye on it to see where the leak is coming from.

sounds like blown head gasket or possible cracked head. Only way to know for sure is either you pull the head, take to a machine shop have it serviced, they will replace any bad valves, resurface and pressure check it. If its cracked they will tell ya. The alternative is to pull the head, clean up really good and put a new gasket and reinstall the head. If it doesn't fix its cracked.

There is a problem with your climate control. It is not allowing the vent to open that allows air to pass through the radiator.

Couple of thoughts. are you losing water/antifreeze, do you have the right mixture 50/50 water/antifreeze. You did not say if the thermostat is removed or replaced. If thermostat is stuck closed water will no circulate. Are you getting any flow from the water pump. If your heater core is bypassed you should not get any hot air from the heater in the vehicle. Make sure your oil levels are good.

If engine overheats and I remove thermostat does it help?

This is the primary cause of engine overheating. Possible leak points include hoses, the radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, heater core, head gasket, freeze plugs, automatic transmission oil cooler, cylinder heads and block. Perform a pressure test.

Thermostat or water pump?

Sounds like a thermostat is being sticky. A water pump issue should cause the vehicle to over heat quickly while driving if it is not pumping.

05 buick rendezvous overheating recently changed thermostat heater blowing cold air when runs hot

Sounds like you may have a head gasket leak. But first I would check the water level and get the air out of the system. Air is bad is water system. When bleeding the air squeeze the hoses to burp the air out and I also would suggest looking for a purge nut on the top of a water line or housing on the engine. Check the fan is working or works. And then maybe consider the thermostat was installed wrong.

Check the cooling fan motor and of course the fluid level. If the temp is changing thru the heater it could just be low on coolant , leaking from ? Two wheel drive have an elecrtic cooling fan only, make sure its spinning up when temp is 3/4. If not its probably the fan motor. Can be checked with a test light .

Heater blows cold air when the truck is idling or in stop and go traffice

a question to an answer: is your truck has any heat when you rev it 2000 rpm, or above?
have you check your coolant level? if level is low you have a small coolant leak, a water pump may be at fault, and causing air pockets in your heater core, check for leaks your self, dealer wont tell you if vehicle still under warranty.

The water in my radiator is lowering when i push the throttle down. This happened during a flush i did. Its full but the water lowers and rises when you move the throttle any at all. I dont get where its...

You've got air trapped in the cooling system. The lowering and rising is caused by the water pump sucking the coolant into the engine thru the bottom radiator hose when the thermostat is closed. When you let off the throttle, the water pump slows down, an since the thermostat is closed, the coolant has nowhere to go except back into the radiator. You need to bleed the air from the cooling system or it can cause over heating and the heater may not work right. Here's how to go about it: You'lll need a gallon of antifreeze. Use a jack to raise the front of the vehicle so the radiator is higher than the engine. Remove the radiator cap and start the engine. Make sure the heater controls are on the hottest setting, but do not turn the heater on. Let the engine warm up to normal temperature. Watch the coolant level in the radiator. When the thermostat opens, the coolant level will drop. Now, add antifreeze to fill it back up. If there is still air in the system, the level will drop again. Add more antifreeze. Continue to do this until the coolant level stabilizes. Put the radiator cap back on and make sure the temperature Gage doesn't show overheating. Turn on the heater to make sure it blows hot air. If you're not losing coolant, it's much more likely to be the water pump. Most heater cores leak when they go so although it's not impossible, I'd be very surprised if the heater core was even partly to blame for your overheating problem.
