98 4.0 ford explorer oil pressure comes up fine when you start it up then drops all the way out and stops running right a way, what could do this becuse it just started doing it to day?

lubrication system is the problem. parts of the system, from the sump to cylinder head.. strainer, oil pump and the filter. most cases, the clogged filter is the problem. it notice that no oil coming up to the cylinder head. and that makes engine to stop.

98 4.0 ford explorer oil pressure comes and goes it makes engine noise when it goes what to do

The engines oil pump might be having a problem. Mechanical engine noise is always reason to look for the source. Combined with low oil warnings make sure to resolve this problem first before driving anywhere.

Fixing an oil pump requires removing the oil sump. Someone who knows how can do this in a few hours of work. Alternatively the oil suction pipe might have come off the oil pump assuming the engine had major service some time ago.

to determine why your vehcle is showing low oil pressure,u need to first make sure oil filter is clean and not clogged
use correct viscocity oil
test oil pressure sending unit
test oil prssure gauge in dash
if all this checks out, then the oil pump needs replacing

Oil pressure gauge was flextuating now has gone to the low pressure line I put in an additive mystery oil when my oil was low and now i am having this problem could this be my oil pump or is my oil too...

It sounds like your oil pump is going out. I have a 98 ford explore and I went through the same thing about a year ago. I changed the oil pump cleaned the screen and have been good everysince.
