Hi, they are engine timed injectors, and yes they work from injector pump pressure, as for the cold start there will probably be separate glow plugs which will have either a wire or a buz bar connecting them all with a common feed. Hope that helps

SOURCE: cold start valve problem

if you have an electric cold start valve make sure to unplug it and if keeps apling fuel with electrical conector unpluged that means the valve is not good, but if not then you have an electronic problem, possible a bad cold start sensor or cold start module or cicuit problem, and might be a time to take it to an electrical shop

SOURCE: 85 s-10 2.5l no fuel from the injectors

electronic engine control unit calculates the mass of fuel to inject, not how wide it sprays. It's the type of solenoid that you use. Some have wider spray nzzles than others. An external Fuel pump helps the delivery of the fuel. Also since fuel injectors rely on mass air flows nowadays, you have to have proper mixture coming through. hows your Fuel pressure regulator?

The throttle position sensor reports to the computer the position of the throttle butterfly valve, which the ECM uses to calculate the load upon the engine-but inorder for this to run, you may need an external pump.

Sounds like nothing is being grounded back to the ECM to even give a reading. If your regulator is improper and you do not have a external pump (depending on your model), than check those. If not, Start from scratch.

If you ever lose your way, go back to the beginning_REWIRE!

Goodluck.

SOURCE: 1993 VW Cabriolet Fuel pump or Injector problem?

Hi. This is more of a fuel filter issue than a pump issue although, a bad fuel filter will eventually destroy a fuel pump. When the filter is restricted or clogged, this will tend to work the pump harder than normal. this will over heat the pump, therefore, shortening its life span. I recommend replacing the fuel pump and filter and, adding a fuel additive like techtron fuel injector cleaner/water remover as well.

Please rate and have a great day:)

SOURCE: throttle body injectors not fiering but there is fuel pressure

the injectors are fired thru the engine cotrol module but it gets its signal to fire from the pick-up located inside the distributor if you are loosing injector pulse only the ignition module is bad if you are also loosing spark when you loose injector pulse your pick up is causing the problem if you replace the pick-up i recomend you change the ignition module when doing so because they work together and you have to remove the distributor to change the pick-up

What are the probable causes of DTCs P0300 and P0316?

code p 2274 refers to heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 3 bank 1 signal stuck lean or oxygen sensor(O2S) signal stuck lean===causes for both--wiring ---HO2S--fuel pressure --injectors --intake leak
code p 0300 refers to random /multiple misfires detected ===causes --spark plugs -- HT leads injector/s--ignition coils --low compression --wiring
code p 0316 refers to misfire detected during start up---first 1000 revolutions ===causes --engine mechanical fault---wiring---ignition / fuel system---injector
in all codes the injectors show up as a problem cause and if you couple that with low fuel pressure issues you may have a pointer to the real cause
have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold top check for pump fault , filter blockage and faulty pressure regulator
check /clean injector tips as they could be suffering from contamination problems and not operating freely ( good fuel injector cleaner)

Po306

code po306 refers to cylinder 6 misfire detected===causes ---engine mechanical fault--wiring--ignition/ fuel system--injector--ECT/MAF sensor--ECM

the pressure is good so rule out mechanical fault
injectors being cleaned and tested so rule out injectors
fuel pressure not tested to see if it is average or minimum
check MAF sensor for correct voltage and/ or resistance
IF the misfire moved when the plug and wires were swapped then check the wires and connections . If not then check distributor cap for crack or dirty in side the cap allowing shorting of the HT spark

Misfiring

code p0303 refers to cyl 3 misfire detected ===causes engine mechanical fault--wiring--ignition/fuel system--injector--ECT/MAF sensor--ECM
code p0316 refers to misfire detected during start up --first 1000 revs===causes --engine mechanical fault--wiring--ignition/furl system--injector
the common fault cause is ignition/ fuel system and injectors so I would be checking fuel pressure and injector systems for clean and wiring connections are good especially on no 3 injector.

I have a 2007 ford taurus with p0300-p0303, p0306, p0316, p2195 and p2196. engine doesnt start anymore but battery is fine.

The old give me money for nothing statement from a mechanic instead of knowing how to fix it.
code p0300 refers to random/ multiple cylinder/s misfire detected===causes--spark plug/s---HT lead/s---injector/s---ignition coil/s--low compression--wiring
code po303 refers to cylinder 3 misfire detected--- engine mechanical fault---wiring---ignition/ fuel system---injector --ECT/MAF sensor --- ECM
code p0306 refers to cylinder 6 misfire detected===causes --engine mechanical fault---wiring---ignition / fuel system---injector ---ECT/MAF sensor---ECM
code po316 refers to misfire detected during start up--first 1000 revs==causes--engine mechanical fault---wiring---ignition /fuel system---injector
code po2195 refers to heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1 bank 1 signal stuck lean===cayses ---HO2S---fuel pressure---injectors---intake leak
it also refers to O2S sensor 1 bank 1 same causes and also refers to HO2S 1 bank 1 implausible signal===causes --- short to positive---short to ground---Ho2S ---ECM
code po2196 refers to the same items as 2195 . some causes are also air intake restricted
Have a compression test done some where else and it will indicate the condition of the motor. The rest is sensors and wiring problems.

1989 mpv mazda does not start on cold mornings and days

I'm assuming the engine cranks with the starter but does not start and run.

check the operation of the cold start injector. This is a separate fuel injector that injects fuel into the intake manifold to help richen up the mixture for cold starts. It operates on a timer that is linked to a sensor that measures engine coolant temperature. Once warm or the timer runs out, the cold start injector is turned off. Other things to check:

Fuel pressure too high (floods engine through cold start injector), engine coolant temp sensor or intake air temp sensor is stuck at full hot (doesn't allow enough fuel for cold starts), fuel injectors are leaking (floods engine with fuel).

1997 Geo Metro. Thought car had a mechanical fuel issue, so replaced the Fuel pump and fuel filter with no luck. If dead cold, it will run for ex amount of time, usually enough to go a few blocks and back,...

Check the ohms value of the coolant temperature sensor for the computer (not the one for the dash)
It will have a 2-wire connector, and this sensor is commonly located at or near the thermostat housing, Do this check when the engine starts to act up. If the ohms reading is drastically deviated from spec, then you have identified the problem. G/L

1999 Ford Taurus mechanical problem

Hello,
your problem appears to be the idle control motor located on the air intake manifold it is a small motor that goes bad quite often. Other items that can cause this is a bad /clogged air filter or a tune up (spark plugs and wires), or clogged fuel injectors. to clean the injectors you can buy a container of fuel system cleaner and pour it into the gas tank and as you drive it cleans the system.

Once the fuel system is cleaned via a tankful of cleaner & gas then the idle controller motor would be next on the list to be replaced.

Good Luck !
