Question about 1997 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
I have a 1997 Chevy S10 pickup with the 4.3 liter vortec engine. My problem is when I am sitting like at a light the engine pulls down and then goes back up...many times when the light turns green and I step on it the truck does not want to go...like it is not getting enough fuel or air. I have had the engine on the machine 2 times now and says my truck is running lean.
I had this problem in my 99 zr2. Turned out that it was the mass air flow sensor. I cleaned it with some carb cleaner and the problem went away for a little while but I ended up replacing it later on. Its a pretty inexpensive part and a very easy fix. It just disconnects from the air intake tube with a couple of hose clamps and two snap on wire connections.
