Depending on who, and how they checked the pump, it could be your pump is getting ready to cost you some hard earned cash. For a car of it's age...you may wan tto try and see if you can pick up a bone yard refuse just to check tings out...then agai you ru the risk of wasting time and money that way too.

I have to differ in my offering of advise from the last person that gave you a tip.

Buy American........it could be your job you're saving.

I hope this helps you in some way, good luck from us @ FixYa.com..have a safe New Year

Yes, where is power steering unit located on 1998 oldsmobile intr.

  • The fill for the Power Steering Pump is on the left side of the engine way in the back by the firewall and down a few inches. This is a tight fit and will require you to brush up against parts that will be hot should the engine have just been running. If at all possible, check the level when the engine has cooled down a bit.

My steering is really sloppy, how do I tighten it up? 1985 olds delta 88.

Check the center link on the steering assembly which the left and right inner tie rods attach to
It may need a replacement. Check all other steering related items as well for wear and looseness

How do replace the power steering pump on 1996 oldsmobile delta 88

remove the pressure and return line, the belt, remove the mounting bolts. Use a "power steering pulley puller" to remove the puller. This tool also works as an installer.

1987 oldsmobile delta 88 power steering very stiff when car first started ok after turning wheel a few times

You may have to bleed the steering box. Do this when the vehicle is running and turn the wheel all the way to the right until you hear a squeal then to the left. This may have to be done a few times.
