There is no dipstick ...they are sealed units. there is a way to add fluid but its not easy.... you have to remove exhaust crossover pipe ...then you will see a small brass plug on top of trans..... hope this helps

Where is neutral safety switch on 92 olds cutlass?
The neutral switch is not the issue. It wont even start if it was the switch, Check the fluid with the car on a level surface, It is is ok, check the link to the transmission from the shifter to see if it came off. If none of those work, it is time for a new transmission.

If you find the dipstick, this is where you add. You must use a long skinny funnel. Idle your car in park and check the dipstick for correct levels.

I can not locate trans.dip stick on a 1998 Olds Cutlass.
Sorry I think the 1998 cutlass has a 4t40e trans. It has no dipstick. You have to remove a plug by the passenger CV shaft and fill the trans until fluid runs from the plug.
