Question about 1991 Isuzu Rodeo
I have a 1991 Holden Rodeo, (isuzu engine, 2.6l petrol) It suddenly stalled on me while it was idling the other day. i was pretty sure it was a fuel problem so i replaced the fuel filter. this did not work, i brought a new fuel pump and now it starts up SOMETIMES and runs for various lengths of time before it cuts out. any ideas?
I realise you have probably solved this problem by now so sorry for the late news mate . Had a similar prob and it turned out to be an alternator malfunction . I replace the brushes and off she went . These things send voltage from the alt . to a fuel pump relay or whatever so the pump wont run if the eng isn't (or the alt isn't outputting any voltage.) . Hope you already had it sorted . But I hope this helps if not . Cheers Simon .

I have a 1990 isuzu p/up 2.6. I swaped out my original alternator with a high amp output alternator and is externally regulated. My problem is that my original connector that i plug to the orignal alternator is not use. How do i wire it into the charge indicator wire and what is the color code?

I own a 1995 Rodeo with the 2.6L 4-Cylinder. I recently had a similar issue as this. Sometimes it would not start. Replace the fuel filter, twice, replaced the fuel pump, twice. Changed the plugs, new wires, new fuel pressure regulator. Still the problem persisted.
So I started tracing out the wiring. I pulled the fuel pump power connector (you can get to it from the passenger side rear wheel area), put 12vdc to the pump and could hear it run. Checked the other side of the plug and found 12vdc there when I tried to start the vehicle. Put the plug back together, it would not start.
Turned out to be the connector itself was faulty, it was not making a good connection. So it might be a good idea to start there. Sometimes I could pull the connector apart and put it back together and it would start up and run fine. I had to replace my connector eventually as it gradually got worse over time.
