One of the 2 keyless remotes for my Hyundai Santa Fe has completely stopped working, even after replacing with new battery(it works). The 2nd remote works for unlocking but seldom works for locking car. I have the metal pin that came with the keys when I bought the car. Can I try to reset/reprogram the existing remotes or do I have to purchase 2 new ones.

I had the same problem a while back. What I did was disconnect the battery for a minute and I havent had that problem since.

i had a problem not unlike this in my santa fe 1.9td uk spec.
my car had been sitting for a few months and when i returned to drive it again the same problem came to light.
i also rep[lsaced the key fob.
it could be one of two things.
firstly the systen might neen re-set. if you disconnect the battery for 2 hours then attach ti again it might work.
if this fails it might be the actuator in one of the doors. if it is faulty then it only semi closes the lock, but it then thinks that has to lock again. and locks the door.

some time the buttons on the remote get worn out and it will light up but it wont unlock or lock. you can just buy a new case and switch the piece inside. If you have another remote try to see if that one works if it does then the remote case is your problem
