Question about 1995 Toyota 4Runner

1 Answer

We have 2 problems 1st is a 1985 Yota 4runner that we replaced the rear seal on and after putting everything back together we can not get the timing adjusted so that it runs smooth. The distibuter is adjusted as far as it can be ran great before but it sat for a year with the engine torn down. 2nd is our 1987 yota 4runner will not start, have power, ignition is messed up where where starting the key does not return on its own and we replaced the starter 3 weeks ago. Can you suggest fixes for our problems? If so then I have another toask about 4wd on 99 yukon...:-)

I'm trying to fix my 1985 4runner rear window. It works rarely, and is intermintent, and only if i push a certain point of the door with all my force (and I'm a its not much !)\r\nAny tips? By...

try spraying the window tracks with silicone spray and the mechanism arms with WD40 - that may help the window roll easier. I suspect your track ways are worn as well as some of the window mount bushings - replacing those bushings may cure the problem but getting into the door to gain access is not so easy. Spraying would be my first choice. Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

85 Yota pick-up, Ultra High and Low Idle, now no start

mcdevito75 here, Could be a dirty fuel fliter, remove fuel inlet toarb, crank engine but don"t start, container of 1 pint of gas should pump out from detached carb. fuel inlet, if not replace fuel pump. Very high idle and very low idle could also be a major vacumn leak, check all vacumn hoses, also check intake manifold, spray soapy water around intake manifold try to start, if you see water sucked in or engine now starts, there"s your problem, a vacumn leak.

94' toyota 4runner rear differential seal

1st, check to see ifthe vent is plugged on the Differental????? This will make the oil to come out when the oil heats up amd makes gases & pressure. The gases & pressure has to go somewhere!!!! Did the person put a new Crush sleeve, to take the slack out of the pinion, which will makes to pinion move from side to side. Replacing it is no problem. Just time! Gear oil, Seal, Gasket, & Crush sleeve. Place everything on the ground in the order that you take it off. Also check upper & lower bearing & races to see if they need to be replaced. This will also make slack, which will mess up your seal, and star leaking again. Good luck, and take your time.
