Remove the door panel,there will be several rivits you will have to drill out,replace the motor replace the motor and the rivits you drilled out with bolts.

With key on door open, hold switch in down position and rap door panel with rubber mallet...if it works, need motor, if not, check switch for power out to motor
Define "STUCK"! can you hear a sound comming from the door when you push the window button "like its trying to work but cant" ?? then yes it is truly "stuck" but, is no noise, then check out the window switch in the drivers door, it may be bad. now if it is "stuck" then, remove the door pannel and see what is wrong, could be several different types of probles inside the door that could cause this problem.. most of the time you can simply spray WD-40 on some of the moving parts in the door, then gentally convince the window to move. caution, be very carefull not to have your hands or fingers inside the door while trying to operate the windoww up or down...... you could get hurt if things got moving. The other problem could be that the indow motor has failed. same thing,, take off door pannel and replace window drive motor, it will have the "regulator built on to it". so replace complete unit. Inspect or replace the window lock and unlock switch on the drivers door power window switch. There is a lock and unlock switch that will disable the switches to the other power window in the Jimmy. Check to make sure that switch is in the unlock position to have the other power window switch to work.

You need to take inside door panel off This just clips on but there are screws in armrest and inside door handle look for any other small square covers that may hide screws Lift panel up Make sure window is up Disconnect wiring from panel and you can now get at door handle linkage and bolts
if the drivers side switch is the only one that doesnt work it needs replaced confirm by making sure the passenger door switch works the passenger window
The same thing happened to my 1999 JMC Jimmy recently. I believe the problem is that your power window motor has most likely gone out or is starting to go out. The motor will need replaced. They are pretty expensive new. I went to a junkyard and got one for around 15 dollars. When mine went bad, I had rolled my window down about three or four inches and it stuck there. I took my door panel off and tapped on the motor while holding up on the window switch and got it to go up after a few minutes. I am replacing my motor today, I'll leave an update here about the outcome when I finish the job. I hope this information helps you.
