Make sure they have given u the correct belt, match it to the length to the old one, make sure the belt is seated in the pulley grooves, even one missed groove will make it very hard to install, is this your question, if not let me know. Happy New year!

My serpentine belt broke on my 97 ford escort a

The water pump doesn't run without this belt. I suspect the engine was overheated even if the gauge or light didn't yet register. I hope I'm wrong... This heads will overheat very quickly and have a low tolerance for this. I replace my belt and throw the old one in the trunk for just such a calamaty.

What are timing marks for 1997 ford conyour 2.0 engine dual overhead cams

apparently there are no marks on this engine you have to use some special ford tools to set cams and crank in proper position. They might rent at local auto parts store. hope this helps

Timing belt replace escort 2000 engine

Don't know what answer your looking for !

I would ask -- why did the belt break,I change them
every 6 years & inspect a couple times a year

You remove the belt & debris from it,replace the
broken cover if necessary, with a used one, & replace
any damaged sensor & repair any wiring

If you never work on your own vehicles, then we can't
direct a repair shop as to how to do what they choose to do

If you need to do a timing belt, then you watch a You Tube
Video about that, on your specific car & the diagram should
be on the belt sleeve, if you get a gates or quality belt

Do i have to remove my timing belt in order to replace my water pump in my 1997 ford thunderbird lx its a 4.6 v8

Your car use3s a timing chain not a belt. The water pump will be serviced by first removing the serpentine belt and then removing the water pump pulley and then finally removing the water pump. It is a fairly easy pump to replace.

If you have any further question please ask I I will be happy to help.

Timing belt is broken. Interference or non interference motor?

Most Ford vehicles from 1985 and up have enough valve clearence so the valves do not get hit when the timing belt snaps. Since I worked for ford for many years I have only seen one with valve damage and the youg man said he was driving his car really hard at high RPM's. I believe you will be okay on your engine as long as when the belt broke the engine was not at high rpm's. If know one has told you those engine recommend a timing belt replacement every 60k. I hpe this helped and I hope this fixes your problem. Good luck, Roger

Installed a new timing belt. Old timing belt broke

not timed right. You have to remove the plug, and insert a straw through the spark plug hole so that you can see when the piston is all the way up

Can installing a fan belt incorrectly effect the shift gear

I think they're messing with you,Fan belt has nothing to do with your transmission linkage, something got loosened up and is out of adjustment, or your cable is broke that operates the indicator .Take it to a different shop hopefully far away from the other guys.
