    Changed relay.

  • Debbie Dec 31, 2008

I tried the relay that belongs to the air conditioner and it still did not work. I will try the tapping with the screwdriver and see if that works.

  • Debbie Jan 01, 2009

I went and retryed the relay and it worked so i guess i need a new one.

    Thanks for your expertise.

  • Debbie Jan 01, 2009

There should be a relay that controls the power to the fuel pump, it sounds like this has stopped working you will have to look up in your owners man were it is, try giving it a small tap with the handle of a screw driver and see if it stars working if so replace it

SOURCE: Fuel pump replacement on a 1996 Buick Regal, 3.8L 6cyl, how

The pump is inside the gas tank, so the tank has to be drained and then removed from the car.
Make sure you have power and ground at the harness going into the tank before you drop it.

What would cause flasher fuse slot to not have power on 1996 buick regal?

If It is not blinking then it's probably a blown bulb, That's how cars tell you a turn signal is bad. You will only have power to fuse slot when turn signal is on and the blinking part runs through a flasher relay so you could have a bad flasher relay if the bulbs are all good.

Fuel pump will not enguage. I have checked the continuity of the wires from the fuel pump to the to the PCM, replaced the fuel pump, filter and solenoid. The inj/fp fuse is good.

I can't stress this enough, GROUND WIRE's, @ pump, @ fuel tank to fill spout, if you have one there, fuel pump RELAY, it may have a fuse in it, when you turn key to ON, do you hear a quiet HUM .......? for 2 seconds ! are all your connections good, have you checked the wires from pump to along frame rail for corrosion, inspect wires closely, for bumps under the insulation of the wire, its corrosion, battery good, clean, terminals tight, did you replace pump yourself ? MAKE SURE ALL GROUND WIRES ARE GOOD, NOT SO..SO..! TIGHT/CLEAN !!!

Hey guys, my caravan started this morning then shut off and won't start again. Heres what I did so far checked fuel pump fuse good, fuel pump relay good swapped with other. Removed neg battery cab

If you have voltage at the fuse and relay, and at the pump, but no fuel pressure, I would say the pump has died or the tank is empty.
Have you checked for voltage at the pump yet ?
