Gas smell running the AC..both inside and outside air...burns eyes...what causes it ?

It's the ECU. Very common with the early '90s lexus cars. Everyone will say head gasket, but unless your oil is milky white, it's not coolant leaking into the cylinder.
Buy an ECu on ebay for less than $100, it plugs in under the dash, just like a computer printer. Easy fix.

if you can get to the break in the line you can do this your self for under $15.
get a tube cutter and cut the bad section of line out next take that section to the part store and ask them for fuel injection hose This is for high pressure fuel line and will work great for you) and fuel ingection hose clamps. now just slide the hose over the line at least an inch and use two clamps on each side of the hose.start the car and make sure it didn't leak. if no kleaks make sure the line is not hanging down. if so then tie them up with zip ties and your all done.

is Thar a gas can in the trunk . or emichon pump hose liking fumes around engine look on ground for wet spot or look around the fuel filter

You don't have a simple problem. Engine light has to be read by a scanner (OBDII) available at autoparts store. Or take to mechanic. After you get code you'll have to be a mechanic to fix problems.
