A good place to start is to have your mechanic/garage do a transmission flush, and replace the filter.
Depending on where you live the price will vary on the flush, and filter change..up here it's about $150..northeast Wisconsin.
Either a garage/mechanic you trust, or a well known tranmission shop will do the job..usually on a wait for it appointment.

Tips for a great answer:
Check the fluid level. You may want to consider having the transmission flushed. (I recommend BG Products flush system.) Properly flushing the trans removes any varnish the may have built up causing erratic behavior.
