It's getting spark - when I pour carb cleaner into the port it starts (rough) until the float runs out

Same problem, but I can't find the location of the IAC motor to clean it...on my 1996 Blazer with 130,000 miles.

I've cleaned the EGR with no 100% cure. ie Still excess cranking, and only sporatically, as sometimes it will fire up, then chug and quit immediately. IT is then that the XS cranking begins.

I replaced cap and rotor, plugs and wires, as well as feul pump and 2 line filters.

    Batter is fully charged.

    Fuel pressure is good.

The first thing I try when this problem occurs is to press the gas pedal to the floor (don't pump) and let the engine crank for a while without letting the battery get too far discharged. If it is only a momentary problem with flooding which can wet the plugs and stop them from firing, this will allow more air into the engine and dry the plugs off so they can fire again.
If this doesn't work, then you need to establish whether it is fuel or spark that is missing.

It helps to know what you have already learned so we don't give you suggestions that you have already tried.

You know it has spark so the remaining possibilty is fuel system or ECU problems.

Check the fuel rail of the injection system for a fitting that often looks like a tire valve and may have a screwed-on cap to protect the valve.
If your car is so equipped, then you can carefully depress that valve's center pin to see if fuel is at least available in the rail.
It isn't necessary to crank the engine, only have the ignition turned on unless it is a mechanical pump.
If it isn't, then either your fuel filter is incredibly clogged (rare) or the fuel pump has failed.

If you have fuel at the rail, then you might trace the cable to your 'computer,' pull any plugs you can and re-plug them to see if one of the contacts is just flaky.

If that doesn't work, I suggest you consider buying a code reader for that year and I think they were changed and standardized in '97.
The code readers can be had for $20-$200 US from many sources, just ensure that any of them you see are for your year and model.

The more recent diagnostic code readers are equipped to use on essentially any car now built but they weren't standarized when your Chevy was made.

96 chevy blazer won't start.

I'm following another issue like this on a 1996 Jimmy.
This engine requires 60psi or more fuel pressure to run.
You need to have someone check the fuel pressure at the rail- throttle body with a gauge.

I have a 99 chevy blazer won't start but will turn

You may have a fuel pressure problem or the secuirty system has locked you out for some reason due to a false signal or failed part. Do you have any electronic engine control codes? Is the Security light on in the instrument cluster and fishing when you try to start the truck? To check the fuel issue get a can of spray starting fluid from the auto parts store or any hardware store and spray it into the air intake of the engine while someone cranks the engine, if it starts you may have a defective fuel pump, the pump is located inside the fuel tank, the fuel tank must be removed to access and replace the pump.

I have a 1996 chevy blazer replaced the fuel and

No, the fuel pressure valve may be stuck open so that the fuel pressure is too low when you start up, but the pump keeps up after the engine starts...
The fuel pressure valve is draining the fuel back into the fuel tank when the Blazer is parked.
