scan said misfire and bad coils on 1-2-3-7 so the mechanic that did the scan said he should replace the plus on those coil packs as well. After paying him and spending 312 dollars on parts it still shakes and runs very poorly. I appreciate your helping with this. I am at a loss and almost broke

The misfire is constant. It will not drive over 20 mph. Also after the 4 coils were replaced he did another scan and it said on only # 1 was bad.again we put on another coil and same reading(#1) but there has been no difference it the car.My cousin is an army mechanic and i spoke to him last night before he left for deployment and he also said it was probably a vacuum leak as you have suggested.I will be checking for leaks again in a few minutes

How about the coils and the fuel injectors? how is the compression? I think warrants a trip to the dealer, they can quickly diagnose this issue.

    stanley

i dont think your mechanic treated poorly you usualy only have one go bad at a time. i dont think any of your coils were bad.

there should of been more dianostic work done.

you need to have your fuel pressure checked you need to check vaccume leaks

    and is the misfire constant?

or does it go away when you rev it up

the fuel pressure should be checked and extra attention to the exaust to make sure your cat hasnt plugged.

Where is the ignition module located on an BMW 325i 2001?

Failed ignition coils

The ones you replaced may not be the issue

Any coil can fail when it wants to

Have to look at cylinder misfire counts on scan tool,
use a scope, walk new coils, whatever it takes to find the
bad ones

Whats the easyest way to change the spark plugs on a 01 navigator

Not to hard to do. Look on top of the valve covers and find the coils should be one for each cylinder. Remove the 8mm bolt holding the coil down and unplug it, pull up the coil to access the plugs. Some of the bolts and plugs may be harder to get to due to location you might need to have a swivel to access them. You don't have to worry about putting the coils back in the same place because they will mount anywhere. Now if you have a cylinder misfire code you can swap that coil with one of the others and see if the misfire code moves with that coil.

I have a 2001 Mercury Sable the check engine light is on it also blinks at times. I have done a oil change also air filter and oil filter checked the spark plugs and replace an air flow hose the engine...

First I recommend you get an auto repair/maintence manual for about 20.00. by Chilton or Haynes then check trouble codes for your sable, this manual is reasonable and will aid you in any further and future repairs. this manual is the type I use, I work on or vehicles-( shady tree mechanic)

02 navigator misfire #7 cyl still after i changed plugs and coil

You've tried everything but getting the timing checked out. You've done all the other parts of a tune-up but that.

When you changed the spark plugs did you notice #7 was especially dirty or greasy, this could point to a seal being broken or a piston ring that needs replacing.

2001 audi a4 CEL came on

I would start with the cylinder 4 spark plug and make sure it look good and is firing correctly.  After that I would look either at the final coil, ignition module and then o2 sensor.  These problems are so hard to diagnose and are trial and error so much of the time.

2001 Honda Odyssey 3000cc engine gave me the "shakes". Turns out one of the Ignition Coils failed rendering the spark plug useless. Change with part number 30520-p8e-a01and now runs normally.
