Question about 1999 Dodge Ram
Engine stalls when idol. Seems like it floats or lacks power on acceleration. Sometimes it clears up, and sometimes it doesn't.
I've change spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, roter, checked fuel pump pressure-55, ohmed injectors - 12.4, checked timing mark on crank, and roter button comparison- ok,
I need help, please when going up hill my truck seems too lack power or proper gas flow.... it also does this when you step into the accelerator to pass some one.... i have been told it could be the fuel filter or fuel pump.....if so where is the fuel filter located at?????? if not, can someone please help!!!!
YOU'RE GONNA HATE THIS BUT IT DOES SOUND LIKE A FUEL ISSUE. HOWEVER HERE'S THE CATCH.....THE FURL FILTER IS IN THE GAS TANK CONNECTED TO THE FUEL PUMP. YOU HAVE TO DROP THE TANK OR TAKE THE BED OFF TO GET TO IT. AND YOU CAN ONLY GET THE NEW FILTER AT THE DEALER. THE LOCAL PARTS STORE DOESN'T CARRY THESE. BUT I'M NOT SURE ABOUT NAPA, THEY MIGHT. YOU MIGHT ALSO WANT TO CHECK FOR A VAC. LEAK AROUND THE THROTTLE BODY. LASTLY WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU DID ANYTHING TO THE TRANS.? MIGHT WANT TO LOOK INTO THAT.

Had similar problem with my 99 ram, turned out to be the catalytic converter, cut the old one out, put a racing cat in, worked like a charm
