Question about 1993 Jeep Cherokee Country
I am not getting continous power to the coil it comes on for 5 seconds and then shuts off
I just did a quick check on a wiring diagram and found something that at first glance makes no sense, but I'll tell you anyhow... One diagram shows power to the coil from the alternator. The other shows power coming from the ecu. I would first do a quick check... Turn the ignition key three times, leaving it on the third time (do not permit starter to engage while doing this) The check engine light will flash in code 1 flash+ #1 etc numbers are seperated by a short pause. number sets ie:23 are seperated by a longer pause. Write down #s and check in a manual for meanings. If you have not disconnected the battery at any point, pay attention to a code 12 that shows batt disconnect (which I would read as a power disconnect) also, anything else that is even remotely related. Got an alarm with engine disable in it??
