Truck Idles weird?

I would guess that a dirty throttle plate is your problem. If the throttle plate is not closing properly, the Throttle Position Sensor is not fully closed, with does not activate the "closed throttle switch". Remove the air tube from the intake manifold; and observe the throttle plate. if it is real dirty with black carbon build-up, this is your problem. Spray it with carb claners until it is nice and shiny.

Truck cranks great . idles great but when in gear and u take off at about 2000 rpm it bogs down as if out of gas , let off gass and it idles great again ! but it isnt the fuel filter.

Could be low fuel pressure, or a problem with the throttle position sensor or the mass air flow meter if equipped.
Could also be something with the EGR valve or a vac leak.

My 89 Toyota pickup idles too fast in cold weather

I would have a look at your coolant sensor, if it's reading the wrong temperature, it will cause a idle problem. If you can, get a scanner on it to verify it's operation.

sounds like your throttle positioning sensor is not set right so i would undo the two phillips heads that hold it and turn it till the idle doesnt fluctuate should be turned most of the way to the front of the truck. Also check your idle screw that throttle body could be set different.

1994 toyota pickup idling problems

Could be a throttle position sensor going bad or a loose or leaking vacumm line or loose or worn wiring harness. You had mentioned the engine starts heating up. Do you mean overheating or operating above normal temperature? Sounds like a vacumm issue with the fluctuating idle. Check for worn vacumm lines and check to see if the vacumm is functioning. Sometimes a simple vacumm line with a loose connection or a small hole in it can affect your idle. Old lines are easily replaceable and an inexpensive place to start, then try your egr valve, pcv valve, brake booster vacumm line, oxygen sensor could be worn and affecting the mapping of fuel and air on the computer. Usually the check engine light will come on in this case.
