Question about 1996 Nissan Maxima
My 1996 maxima had the battery changed, and the airbag light keeps flashing, no stop and starts of flashing to get a code its a constant flash. How do I get it to stop flashing. This has happened before but I forgot what I did to stop the light. I have already done the turn key on and hit doorlocks 15xs and then turn off car and start, but didnt work.
Anything's possible, but don't buy the car if this condition persists. If the airbag was damaged, the repair cost is quite high.
And you will not be able to pass inspection if the seat belt light remains lit.

SOURCE: Airbags deployed
You have to disconnect the battery, replace the air bag modules (air bag modules are the things that explode in your face) and the crash sensors and the control unit or module that came with it. Reconnect the battery and the car should start. Hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: air bag light flashing
the most common cause of the airbag light is a defective rotoating ribbon contact under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the steering column wiring harness, the contact is called the clock-spring contact.
