Question about Nissan Frontier

1 Answer

I have a 1997 Nissan frontier. I was driving to work in the rain and suddenly lost power, could here the motor rev but trk was barely pulling. the battery cables were hot to the touch, I had power but when you turn the key there was only silence, no click or anything. I push started it twice thereafter. the first time the trk spit and sputtered and died after a minuit. the second time it started and ran fine for about 2 miles then lost power in the same way. now it will do nothing. I had the battery checked and it had a bad cell so I replaced it and still nothing. then I put a jump box on the battery and still nothing. help!

You got Water up into the Distributor Cap. Change the Cap and Rotor Bug if it has one, This should fix it.

Hi guys I was driving my Nissan Serena a few days ago in heavy rainfall when I suddenly lost some power, Revs could not seem to go above 2500. Did a restart after 10secs and it was working again.

seeing as how it happened when it was a heavy rain and hasn`t happened since, its more than likely something had gotten too much water and caused the problem. don`t worry about it until it becomes a more constant problem.

Truck drives good but will slow down then speed up normal it a 1998 frontier

No it won't. Clean the throttle body and idle air control motor. Use brake clean and a tooth brush. Clean inside the best you can, start it( it will take a second or two to start) then spray brake clean into the throttle as you rev it up.

2003 nissan frontier stalls when i slam on the brakes

Check oil level, but might be idle motor going bad. The idle motor kicks down the idle as needed as the rpm dictates. If sudden reduction in rpm occurs the idle motor normally keeps up and motor continues running at reduced idle. Unless its going out on you, then you may experience stalling when speed is suddenly reduced such as hard braking.

2001 Crew Cab driver side power window goes down but not back up again. If I give it a small tap right below the buttons it goes up. Is it the motor?

more then likely a bad connection on the switch or motor. pull out switch and look for signs of corrosion. they get wet from rain while the window is down

1998 frontier power doorlock solenoids (both sides) continuosly clicking in and out.

curcuit is connected, check drivers door panel switch (basically from rain causes switch problems) unplug switch and see if it still does it, if so check passenger side - odds are you will find it there.

1997 Nissan Maxima Revs then dies.

This happened to me before. You probably need to replace your mass air flow.
