I have a 2005 equinox. the c d player work good for a while but stopped working. all it wants to do is kicking it back out. so i wanted to know how to take the player out. can you help. thanks
Mine also worked fine for about the first year that I had the car. Recently it stopped allowing me to insert the disc & once a disc is in it won't come back out. When a disc is in, it won't play: just says "error reading disc" on the front read out.

Re: c d player won't work
The whole bezel around radio and shifter should be silver. it pops out the heater controls stay on bezel. shifter will need to be moved into low pop top loose and work done it is just clipped in. there are 4 7mm bolts holding radio in

I took a look in my service manual and couldn't find anything related to replacing the connector and a visit to gmpartsdirect.com showed no major harnesses or connectors for that area available for purchase.
It may be possible that your only option will be to perform a bypass of the burned connector pin by cutting that wire back from both connectors in the harness, splicing a new wire directly between them and adding a blade connector in the new bypass to facilitate opening of the circuit for testing.
Best of luck.
