Question about 2004 Honda Odyssey
We were watching a DVD and the sound on the right side (front speaker and back speakers) quit working. They didn't make a sound (crackling - like a blown speaker) they just quit working. The sound continued to work on the left side. As we continued to travel we took an off ramp and the right side made a crackling sound, but didn't come back on. At this time if we turned the DVD player off and the radio on, the entire set of speakers worked. Fast forward a couple of days and we tried to watch another movie...still no right side sound with DVD but did work on radio setting. As we were driving I heard some crackling coming from the right side if I hit a bump so I moved the setting to only allow sound on the left side thinking that would correct the crackling. It worked for about 5 miles and then the left quit working (no sounds like a pop or anything) just stopped and then I smelled something hot. I turned the power off to the entire system and there it sits. Any suggestions?

The sound chip may have gone in the stereo, especially if someone has had it on very loud they sometimes blow, otherwise you have 2 speaker wires touching each other, that way you only get static noise, insidee the door they sometimes come free and touch the body
Check all your speaker wires first.

You can also buy inexpensive Infrared (IR) headphones for your Honda Odyssey from many sources including eBay, Amazon.com or http://www.audiovideo2go.com . Your dealer also has replacements that can be purchased directly from Honda. There are actually headphones that are lighter and smaller that will better fit smaller children.

Have you check the mute setting if you have one as well as the balance, fader and volume controls? This seems obvious but I figure it's worth a shot. Good luck!
