Question about 2006 Suzuki Swift

1 Answer

ECU pinout? I'm seeking pinout info on an ECU I've pulled from my recently dysfunctional 93' 1.3L Swift (auto trans unfortunately). The ECU is a Denso unit, L4, 1.3-AT-CAM, 33920-63E4 O, 112000-2170. My crappy service manual schematic connector pin numbering does not seem to match what I can read on the ECU PCB. Problem was / is ign abrupt failure. Traced & cleared all except primary coil drain switch at / in ECU but cannot trace actual wire through the firewall.....help?

do u have a factory emissions repair manual? u say the wire colors don't match, I always go by the pin numbers because many times the wire colors would be changed but the pin number marked on the connector or ECU will be correct, if then you will have to get a factory diagram, u can get that info at alldata.com, it is a pay site but will have the diagrams u need.

Its possible that your ECU electronic control unit is failing to send info from the trans to your dashboard or perhaps wiring is faulty (common at trans plug). Use a code reader to scan for any problems with ECU - It could also be a fuse...

Can i change the speed sensor myself or is it a auto trans repair shop

the tranny is dying i think. you might've lost all your gears but 1st and 2nd thats why it's not shifting. if you have a semi-manual mode try all the gears and if they dont change then it definitely is the tranny

99 grand cherokee 4.7, check engine light on. Pulled tranny codes, abs codes and ecu codes.

If the ecu has trouble codes for itself, it may be an internal problem, and the "idiot codes" would be a symptom of erratic ecu operation.
I would recommend that you take it to the dealer and pay the diagnostic fees to have it properly assessed. Then you will know for sure what the problem is with your jeep, and can go from there. If a new ecu is needed, check for a remanufactured unit or shop around at local salvage yards, if you don't want to pay the cost of a brand new unit.
