Question about 2006 Suzuki Swift

1 Answer

ECU pinout? I'm seeking pinout info on an ECU I've pulled from my recently dysfunctional 93' 1.3L Swift (auto trans unfortunately). The ECU is a Denso unit, L4, 1.3-AT-CAM, 33920-63E4 O, 112000-2170. My crappy service manual schematic connector pin numbering does not seem to match what I can read on the ECU PCB. Problem was / is ign abrupt failure. Traced & cleared all except primary coil drain switch at / in ECU but cannot trace actual wire through the firewall.....help?

do u have a factory emissions repair manual? u say the wire colors don't match, I always go by the pin numbers because many times the wire colors would be changed but the pin number marked on the connector or ECU will be correct, if then you will have to get a factory diagram, u can get that info at alldata.com, it is a pay site but will have the diagrams u need.

How do I troubleshoot/reset service engine soon light on m y 1998 Suzuki swift

in usa, all cars , here, 1996+
same answer.
1: you connect any scan tool and push reset.
2: pull the fuse called ECU memory ,and it resets.
3: or as the books tells you drive off the DTC error, this can take days, to do, some have many driving cycles to clear,we ignore this totally, its pita.

you asking how to diagnose DTC errors here?
that is the subject of a whole book, why not by the book
read it and ask questions not clear.?
or
scan it and post the errors
or
same and read the FSM on that error
the factory service manual covers each one, and what steps to reduce it to cause. (more tests)

Can i change the speed sensor myself or is it a auto trans repair shop

the tranny is dying i think. you might've lost all your gears but 1st and 2nd thats why it's not shifting. if you have a semi-manual mode try all the gears and if they dont change then it definitely is the tranny

OBD11 code is P1607

this is an obd2 trouble code table, it can help you underdtand your code.

and i should charge you for this info, but ill be nice. aquire the appropriate pinout diagram for your ecu's plugs. then proceed to verify each of the ecu's power wires have the correct voltage. then proceed to perform a continuity test on all ecu grounds. this means checking voltage from the ecu plug to the ground location that the wire goes to. you should find your problem somewhere within there if you have already swapped out with a KNOWN GOOD ecu.

Have you tried the local dealer for the info? You might be able to try alldata. com. Toyota also has a pay web site for factory info. This is the same site that the factory uses.
