Re: hose off engine wall
The hose is probably one of the heater hoses. If you post up what engine you have I can check and see how much one of them costs. You can reattach the hose using regular worm gear type hose clamps. The factory uses spring type clamps that can be difficult to get off depending on how much room you have to work with. There is a tool that is specially made to remove these clamps even in tight quarters, but if you have enough room, you can get them off with a set of channel lock type pliers.

Hi..That is a lot of oil you are losing, The engine is definitely toast.
Blue/Gray Smoke: Blue/gray exhaust smoke is an indication of oil burning in the combustion chamber.
Valve Guides: Excessive clearance between the valve stem and the valve guide allows oil to leak past the gap into the cylinder.
Piston Rings: Worn or damaged piston rings will cause blow-by resulting in blue/gray smoke.
Worn Cylinder Walls: Worn cylinder walls cause blow-by resulting in blue/gray smoke.
PCV System: A stuck closed PCV valve will cause excessive crankcase pressure resulting in blue/gray smoke.
Is it worth fixing? Depends on how much this car means to you, Mileage of vehicle, and just how much money you want to throw into a 20 year old car..The engine will need to be completely overhauled or change out with a used engine probably close to 800- $1000 either way..Probably have a lot more into this than you can live with I'm guessing

black smoke is excess fuel entering the cylinders. and does not burn completely. poor fuel milage is also a complaint of black smoke from tailpipe.check your O2 sensor, your MAF sensor and for vacuum leaks. Could be air intake check your air filter, but probably the O2 sensor.The O2 sensor. located on the exhaust pipe prior to the muffler, looks like a spark plug with a wire that comes off the tip and leads into the wire loom.But the 02 sensor will turn the check engine light on.other intake components like sensors, fuel injectors and the fuel-pressure regulator.should be checked. good-day!
If the smoke is white ,it's water (head or gasket) Timing belt will shut it off completely. Can't see any way the starter could have anything to do with it. However if it has a head gasket problem,hydrostatic lock can make a good starter look bad(,water will not compress like air) so if there is water in a cylinder the engine won't turn over. If a head gasket is bad there will be white smoke out the tailpipe and bubbles coming out of the radiator (cap off while cold)
Junk yards will have your part, and if that is a problem I have used JB Weld, a 2 part epoxy to do repairs on engines. It is a great inexpensive product that is permanent and will create an air tight seal.
the oil pressure sensor is locatred on the back side of the engine above the oil filter kinda by the fire wall and under the intake manifold. check for a lose wire. but they do go out from time to time so you might need to replace it
Don't "wash" the motor, like you wash the outside. Did you pressure wash it? God people are too freakin anal retentive and go screwing up their engines. Next time use engine cleaner and try not wet any wiring harnesses or anything electrical. You probably killed a sensor connection or something.
