Climate control blowing out defroster only

I have a 1993 ford F-250 XLT with factory air. Regardless of wether I am running A/C or Heat all blows out the defroster. I have replace the selector panel with a used one which made no difference. Is there a vacuum controlled door that has gone bad? If so what is the easiest way to get to it?

You have lost the vacuum source. it is designd to default to drfrost.
check under the hood you should see a line going into firewall on rt side trace this to vacuum canister and see if canister has vacuum. i believe you will find a vacuum hose off under hood. if you have vacuum there check behind glove box there will be a junction block of hoses for doors

Hello krowley

yes, one of the control doors have gone bad. The easiest way to get to it is by removing the panels in the passenger area. They can be removed by reaching underneath and unscrewing the bolts and at the top they will be held on by clips. Start on the driver side and work towards the passenger side. If you can't find a bolt, most likely it is held on by clips. Let me know if you have any questions along the way. I have actually owned a 93 f-150 so the similarities are very close. good luck

No heat / heater not working

not blowing air or when switch is on blows cold air when you have climate control knob turned over to heat? it could be a switch or blower motor or fuse if its not blowing any air. if its blows cold air when knob is on heat then is can be thermostat or low on coolant or it could be climate control module or it could be a air filter in dash.

2000 S10 V6 4.3L having problems with defroster does not blow any air, everything else works blowing hot or cold.

The door that opens for the defrosters is shut for the motor that runs it quit working. They are actuator motors the factory call them. You have this wired to you climate control center for your heater & AC

Climate control is on defrost only the auto

Check your vacuum pump located on the right side fenderwell. see if its running. Check the vacuum hose at the hubs for leaks or damage. repair if damaged. check for other vacuum leaks such as the grey hose going to the heater control valve.

Climate control system only blow air out defrost vent

there is a good chance that you blend air door is stuck closed over your heater core and therefore not allowing the heat to flow, also your door that opens and close your direction of flow from the floor ,das, vent and defrost.your going to have to remove the lower cowling of the dash on the passenger side analso some of the center dash to actually check to see if the cable, servo motors. are acuating the doors.the issue could be just a stuck door or a misaligned cable or that it came off. that falls under the mechanical side of probabilities. electrical would most likely be a faulty selector switch or a servo motor
