Obviously you experienced a no start situation, how did you arrive at fuel pump problem in the first place? (diagnosis) Do you have fuel pressure? Do you have power at the pump? No noise/hum from it when trying to start?

Did you check fuses & relays as per manual?

There is a Fuel Sending Unit that Corresponds with the Fuel Pump. Not sure where on a 2000. On My 95' it was Inside the Under Hood Fuse Box, Had to replace a Relay swith too. My advice is to get a Haynes or Chilton Manual for your Truck. That will help you Further!

- All the Wires are Shrouded in Plastic Flexihose. There should not be a Spot where they can get Pinched. It is a Long Shot But, Take out the ECM Fuse for 2 to 3 Minutes and Reset the Computer, Worked on mine one time. Let me Know
