  • jared874 Dec 31, 2008

talked to service tech at john holtz acura and he told me the fill plug is very hard to find to bring car in and he'll show me

  • jared874 Dec 31, 2008

also the dipstick hole is about a 1/4 inch opening i know what you mean normally filling fluid through hole but not in this case. The fill cap is talked about in the owners manual, having some sort of magnet to catch filings

Should go into the Same Hole that the Dipstick comes out of. You are gonna need a Funnel to accomplish this.

Just Contacted a Friend of Mine that works at an Acura Dealership in Oklahoma. Verified that the Fill is through the Dipstick.

Drain and fill using Acura/ Honda ATF from a dealer only, should require 3.5 quarts. There is a 3/8" drive drain plug and a 17mm filler plug. Any knowledgeable Acura/Honda technician will advise you to do this every 30,000 miles. DO NOT FLUSH! only drain and fill.

Can't find plug for transmission fluid.2001 VWBeetle

LOOK IN OWNERS MANUAL IN GLOVE COMPARTMENT. OR HAYNES REPAIR MANUAL, YOUR TRANSMISSION HAS A FILL PLUG BELOW TRANSAXLE AND A CHECK PLUG ON TRANSMISSION. YOU NEED MANUALS TO SEE THE LOCATION WHERE TO PUT TRANSMISSION FLUID.

Ware to fill transmission fluid

Well I guess you have figured out there is no dipstick. There are two plugs in the rear transmission pan. The bottom plug is for draining and the upper plug is for for filling and checking. Trans must be in park with the engine running and fluid should stream from hole when full.

You do not need to check the fluid , the computer will let you know by means of the maintenance light if it is low.

How can i tell if the transmission fluid is low

You may have a dipstick leading to your transmission fluid somewhere in your engine bay.

Alternatively, you'll have to get under the car and look transmission. There will be two plugs. One will be located near the bottom of the transmission (drain plug) and one will be located somewhere up the upper half of the transmission (fill plug). When you open the fill plug, some transmission fluid should leak out. If it does, then it's full. If it doesn't leak out, you'll need to fill it until it does start to leak out and then put the plug back on

If automatic transmission use the dip stick tube to fill, but watch that you don't over fill.

I just did the same thing, I had to remove the air box to get to the reverse switch on the transaxle. I removed the switch and filled the fuild there.

DONT DO IT! It has Toyota W/S fluid in it, its a lifetime fluid that doesnt have to be changed. If you can tfind a dipstick, dont touch your drainplug. It requires a complicated procedure that requires dealer only tools
