Question about 2001 Isuzu Trooper

Cold starting problem

My son has a 2001 trooper. First thing in the morning or after it sits for a while he has trouble starting the car. It seems like it is not getting fuel or maybe a fuel tank pump is not getting gas up to the injectors, almost like a well losing its prime. Has anyone had any problem similar to this? Thanks.

It may be a good idea to get the heater glow plugs checked out. They are usefull first thing in the morning especially with the cold spell we are having.

1999 chevy silverado truck will start first thing in the morning, but then has problems starting the rest of the day. Sounds and smells flooded too. Starts best when its very cold outside.

In the morning if you turn the key w/o starting it and let it sit a while before starting, does it have trouble starting / smell flooded? If so, likely a bad / leaky injector.

Otherwise, I'd check the O2 sensor(s), likely have a bad one.

hope this helps.

2001 dodge durango, when the weather is real cold

have the ECT checked,
Engine coolant temperature, lets the computer know whether it should push more fuel thru for cold mornings ,
the sensor could be telling the computer that your engine temp is 75 degrees, means less fuel being pushed

It very much sounds like your fuel pump is getting weak or the fuel pressure regulator is going bad.
