Dropped my keys inside my mazda 3 -2010 gearbox HELP!

When you turn the key to start, what happens ? Does the engine turn over and not start ? Or does it not do anything ?

When you say that the starter seems ok, have you tested it ? Did you jump starter/solenoid and see if the engine turns over ? Are you getting power to the starter when turning the key to the start position ?

I am sorry to tell that the gearbox need to have some major repair. It is also not advisable to continue driving as the gearbox can breakdown completely leaving you stranded. At least one the cluster drive gears in the gearbox is damaged (gear tooth stripped off) that will result in that only some of the gears being able to be selected. The broken off tooth are still in the gearbox and due to the oil movement in the gearbox it can be "washed up " in between to engaged gears destroying those as well. This will happen up to the point where there are no gear selection at all.

Probably dirty inside, take it apart, clean all parts and put it together.

Likely a gearbox issue.
Check condition of gearbox oil. If dark red or brownish in colour, then replace oil. Remove gearbox sump and replace oil filter. When replacing filter look for metal particles in oil
Retry.

If no success, or if finding large degree of chaff in gearbox sump, then likely a gearbox failure.

Sorry, Mazda has not released specific information about the 2012 models to the aftermarket yet. The nearest I could come up with is for a 2010 Mazda 3i (I am sure it is probably similar).

> Remove the plug hole plate from the top of the valve cover assembly
> Remove ignition coil assemblies
> Remove spark plugs
> Installation is reverse procedure

With all that said, it is not necessary to replace spark plugs in your vehicle for 100,000 miles. I find it hard to believe that your 2012 car could possibly need spark plug replacements at this early age.

cannot say i have done one but the golf and polo come off on the earlier models ,perhaps its a gearbox out and flywheel off job which means its a drop out the bottom the complete unit ,i just do not know sorry
