What i can recall the only removable electronics is the complete turn signal assembly or the other would be the electronic piece that is actually the key reminder buzzer that reminds when key is left in ignition while engine is off...This looks like two flat copper match sticks attatched to a 1 inch piece of plastic... Well enough of my guesing.. if you were to go to an auto parts store and look at a motors repair manual for a chevy steering column little if anything has actually changed in the design with the tilt steering column which is probably why you originally took it apart because of the tilt torx bolts coming loose... I hope you used locktite when you reassembled to makesure it doesnt happen again....Good Luck

Have a 1961 Cadillac deville doing a rebuild on the steering box looking a manual or just the pages to do it how to put it back together

Any GM manual around the same period will have the pages to shown how it is put together.. It will not have to be a caddy deville as GM used the same steering box for a number of cars.

Can't put key in the ignition

try moving your steering wheel back and forth while trying key. I don't see how you could move the steering column, its usually bolted in very tight. If you can move your steering column, it needs tightened up immediatly!

Need a diagram to put together a 1989 caddilac eldorado power steering, tilt and telescope steering wheel and column.

Excellent tutorial here that helped me when I had a loose steering wheel on my 1988 Deville.

This one is not from an 89 Eldorado, but all GM Tilt/telescoping steering columns from that time are virtually identical:

Emergency brake is engaged and i cant figure out how to release it? its a 1989 cadillac sedan deville

Hello, Look up under the dash next to the inside of the car, between the foot pedal for the park brake assembly, on the park brake assembly there should be a short lever, it may even be yellow on the end. pull it back toward you, that should release the park brake. The System is suppose to release automatically when you put the car in gear. It works off vacuum, the switch is mounted on top of the steering column and the actuator is mounted on the park brake assembly

There is a fuse box located on the passenger side-but no diagram.not sure what these fuses are for. cadillac deville 1989

The turn signal flasher is located under the dash to the right of the steering column on most models. The hazard flasher is under the dash, to the left of the steering column. On 1980 and later models, both the turn signal flasher and the hazard flasher are located at the lower left hand and the upper right hand corners of the fuse block respectively. There is an inline fuse for the underhood/spotlamp circuit. The fuse box is marked to indicate fuse size and the circuit(s) protected.

1998 escort....horn blows when you turn the corner...now blows continually if you touch the steering wheel...I took the fuse out

A friend took the steering wheel/column apart and found the horn wire and it had a tiny cut in it from the metal part of the wheel...taped it and put it back together

Wiper controls

Sorry but the 1989 deville wiper switch is controlled by the turn signal lever on the left of the column.
