Misses and sputters at certain throttle position

This sounds like the same problem I had with my 87 Jeep 2 door Cherokee Sport.
Thought I had to replace the Fuel pump yet when I went under and pulled it out of the side of the tank I found that one of it's vacuum or return line had fallen/poped off. After I pushed the rubber tube line back on it's metal tube and pushed and remounted the pump back in the tank. Started up and it never ran better at any speed. Yea!!!!!

Have it checked with a computer diagnostics. It sounds like it could be a bad sensor, quite possibly your oxygen sensor. A bad sensor could cause the computer to think your engine needs more fuel.

From what you posted,it may be a few different problems.BUT.The 1st thing I would look at is the cat/converter may be blocked.Hey.It may not be.But look at that before you spend any money on other stuff.I just thought. How is your air filter.Take it out and take the car for a short run and see how it goes. This may show what is wrong.Hope this helps

What your are describing for symptons actually sounds like a sensor and a valve the starting problem is aa sensor Throttle position sensor and the stalling problem is your idle air control valve hope this info helps just make sure after you replace these 2 items that you disconnect the battery for about 10 minutes so the computer resets itself.
