Question about 1997 BMW Z3 Roadster
How do i reset the lights since i do all of the maint. the z3 is nine years old and a mechanic told me that i could reset the lights if i plugged into one of the numbered receptacles and grounded it for a number of seconds..i have forgotten which plug it is....thanks ...freddy the fox

The maint req'd light goes on when your vehicle is due for an oil change. If you've recently changed your oil - sometimes your mechanic won't reset the built in tracking settings for when you are due for another oil change. Here's how you can reset it.
Turn ignition to "ACC" and press the odometer button until the display reads actual mileage (not Trip A or B).
Turn ignition off.
Hold the same button down that you used in step 1.
While holding the button, turn ignition to 'ON'.
The 'Maint Reqd' light should blink and go out.
