When i start my car the low coolant light goes on and then i add some coolant and for about 1 week it satys off. Then it starts allo ver again.I can see it leaking down from under the thermostat area.Any answers would be welcomed.
Well it could be a leaky thermostat housing. That is usually removing two or three bolts and a gasket and change the thermostat while you're in there. If you want to really be sure buy an ultraviolet leak detector. You pour a packet of special dye into the coolant. Run the car for a few trips then, when the engine cools down, plug the light onto your battery and start looking. Any external leaks will glow bright neon green. Even leaks that are so small that they dry up when you shut off the car can be found this way.
