SOURCE: power window problem

On my girlfriend's Civic, the same problem cropped up and it was the driver's door switch assembly. The power for all the windows is routed to the driver's door switches, and from there, out to the other doors (that's how the window lock on the driver's door is able to shut off the window power in the back doors). If your driver's door switch assembly has failed, you'd have no power to the windows, regardless of which switches you're trying to use. I'd suggest going to a salvage yard and finding a new driver's door switch assembly and swapping it into your car and see if that fixes it. It shouldn't run you more than $15 or so, and they're generally pretty easy to swap out - figure a few basic tools and maybe a half hour or 45 minutes of your time.

SOURCE: factory alarm wont stop

You can try to use another key if you have one, get one made. Also try to lock and unlock the doors, if this does not help you will need to bring vehicle to shop with high end scan tool so they can monitor what part of the security system is activating. Thanks

1998 dodge durango. both the power windows and door locks stopped working. any suggestions?

They are on two different circuits. The windows are on a 25amp circuit breaker, and the door locks are on a 20amp fuse.
The door locks go thru a central timer module but the windows don't.
Have you checked for power and ground at the driver's door switch ?

Where is the fuse located for a 1998 nissan maxima passenger door window

your local parts store or dealer can give you a schematics of the fuse box layout. however if all the power to the door is gone I don't think your problem is going to be a fuse. I have never seen a vehicle have separate fuses per door

How do I remove the left rear door panel from a 1996 Nissan Maxima? The window just fell down. It can be manually lifted up, but it slides back down again. It no longer mechanically works. If you can...

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable(for safety if you have power locks and windows)
  • At the bottom of the door panel remove the two screws
  • Pry up at the front edge of the power window switch pod and lift it out then unplug the electrical connector
  • Remove the inside door handle
  • Remove the screw in the door pull pocket
  • Pull the door panel away from the door far enough to disconnect the electrical connectors
