Will turn over, getting gas and spark but no start. Checked oil and fuses. Not a vehicle expert and don't know where all filters are to check for clog in filter.

How do I get my car to start it won't start. Charged the battery. The cars turns over. I know I needed a thermostat but the car wasn't over heating. Will that cause the car not to star

Obtain an OBD tester from your local Autoparts store. Run the diagnostic from the OBD port underneath the dash and see if you get any codes. Most likely you will and it will point you in the right direction. My bet is an ignition relay has died.

2005 PT Cruiser showing P0456 and P0522. Cranks but wont start.

The sensor that is most likely causeing the problem is the low oil pressure sensor. It is telling the cpu that you have a problem that unless you correct it, the motor will suffer serious damage from insufficient lubrication.Have the oil pressure checked with a manual gauge then replace the sensor unit if faulty.

Engine turns over but won't start

Have you checked if it is fuel or spark related? Did it die while you were driving it? When did it happen? Does it have gas? I know that sounds dumb, but stranger simplier thing have happened. Timing chain?, Distributer gear worn due to worn cam? fuel pump?

do you know if you are getting gas. is there a buzzing noise in the gas tank when you turn the key. is there spark at the spark plugs. if there is not spark then you may need a crank position sensor. I am a self employed mechanic and I am on face book

I have1994 sl1 Saturn its been sitting for like five years and will not start how do i get it running again. I Chang the battery. An the spark. Plugs an wires and i have drained. The old gas out an...

Ok ou changed the battery, the spark plugs and spark plug wire and drained the old gas out. You could also drain the fuel line, so that any gunk in it. Did you change the oil and the transmission fluid? Did you drain the radiator and flush it out before refilling it with water an anti-freeze? You need to find where the fuses are and change them all, because it is difficult to tell if a fuse is bad or not. The fuses are very old, and they can cause the car not to start. Do you have lights? Have you checked your alternator? If it is not working, the battery will drain and the car won't start. It's a cheap fix. Have you checked your hoses and clamps? If the problem is that it is not starting when you turn the key, the starter could be bad. You can test this by hot-wiring it (I'm sure you can find instructions online). Also, check your belts and make sure they are in good condition. If it has been sitting that long, the belts are probably dried out. They are not hard to change, or very expensive, if you do it yourself, but if they aren't too bad you can get some belt conditioner that will help. If I think of anything else, I will let you know.

Car won't start new battery spark plugs check gas tank

Sounds like you have replaced a number of different parts all dealing with different aspects of how a car can run. The first thing I would do before replacing anything else is to find out the source of the problem. Like are you getting fuel yo the injectors? do you have good fuel pressure? Are you getting spark to the spark plugs? stuff like that to narrow down the problem. You need 2 main things for an engine to run, Gas and GOOD spark. You also need airflow but an engine will kind of run if that is limited. I would like to help you so you don't buy anymore parts you don't need. I am an ASE certified master technician and I own a repair shop in Florida. Feel free to email me at csautomotivecars@att.net. Let me know the make, model & year of your vehicle, what you have done so far and why you decided to do those things. Also is it turning over (spinning) when you try to start it? What you have checked yourself as far as fuel or spark. I say this because you went from spark plugs to battery to gas tank which are all different aspects of the engine starting or running so i think if we could narrow it down a bit with some test to start to diagnose it, then i bet we could get you going. I have helped a lot of people this way and enjoy helping. I don't charge for it so there would be no cost. So I look forward to hearing from you and please be detailed as to any questions or answers so I can help better. Wish I could say just do this and it would be fixed but need to work on what the problem is first and then go from there.

Gets gas gets spark but don't start. new fuel

1. does it turn over? if so, strong, or weak? 2. did you replace the fuel filter? 3. coil packs, or distributor (pack(s) can be tested) if distributed check cap and rotor, replace coil, but first check starter relay - 4. Check all ignition fuses, starter fuse - (along with relay{above}) 5. Check all connections from battery - positive, negative etc.
Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Chevorlet express 1500 want turn over

Hello and welcome to FixYa!
Please do check the battery if it's fully charged. If it's not, have it charged for if it's weak there will be insufficient current for the starter to kick the flywheel.
If it still fails even the battery is fully charged then the problem can be on the starter, ignition coil or ignition switch. I strongly suggest that you have it looked at for this will require an on hand trouble shooting by an expert mechanic.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

On occasion, my car won"t

Without a wiring diagram and the vehicle, the mechanics you had check it out, would be your only choice ,to get to the solution to your starting problems
The Fuel Pump is almost always the problem
The other components that turn it on should also be checked

As I stated,if the repair shops you go to ,do not have an online subcription to AllData,Mitchell,Etc.,they won't know anything about your vehicle, or have a diagnostic path to follow.
That is what I suspect.
The days of wishing, hoping, pushing, poking, are long gone, some 30 years ago.
These vehicles are too technical, and if you got no electrical skills, your better to seek another career path.
