how do you fix a clogged heater core...can you just switch the lines around and hope it blows out?

  • Kenny DeLaet Jan 14, 2009

Mine is doing the same I think. Air comes out but its not very hot AT ALL. My temp gauge is reading normal. If it is the heater core clogged, how do you unclog it? reverse the hoses?. Also how do you check the blending door?

Does the temperature guage go up to normal if so probably either a bad blend door motor or broken blend door or heater core cloged you can check the lines if one is cooler than the other then it is most likely the cause

HEIL HVAC, fan blows but no heat or AC

Your airconditioning system may be out of cooling gas, and if it has sufficient gas, the compressor might not pick when you put on the AC, and if the compressor did not pick ie start, you cant experience cooling effect, the fan will only be blowing.

The heater fan on my 2006 GMC Sierra only blows to defrost. Directional control switch doesn't change it.

Most likely is your blend door is faulty (bad motor/broken tab?).
Defrost is the idle possition ( as it is the most important).
You may have a disconnected vacuum hose from the climate controle panel if you recently (ever?) had work done in the dash area...

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra. The heat/defrost blower fan stays on when the ignition is turned off. The only way to stop it is to pull the fuse.

Sounds like the blower switch is shorted. Try running through the blower speeds to see if that changes anything.

Ac/heat fan does not work

Hello. your A/C relay is bad. It is under the dash to the right of the steering column. Replace it and you will be up and running. J.

Cooling fan relay location on a 2005 gmc sierra

If air is hot then cold it sounds like you have a sizable air pocket in the cooling system. This could be caused by a leak or if you have recently done anything to the system without bleeding it afterward.
