2002 maxima heater fan does not work sometime

My fan motor works most of the time, except once or twice a month it stops working. I can drive the can a few miles and it starts working again. The blower motor has been replaced, and some type of resistor, or capactor have been replace ($500.00 for both of these) but that did not fix the problem

It doesn't work in the summer either. This is just a rare problem, no one has been able to fix yet

If it is cold out and you have the automatic electronic heater controls the the fan will not turn until the car is warmed up and is able to provide heat.

SOURCE: 2002 Chevy Impala Blower resistor location

It is on the passenger side, you have to remove the black plastic kick plate, below the glove box, to expose it (held in place with 2 latches and 1 push pin). The resistor is in front of the blower motor ( sandwiched between the motor housing and the firewall) it is tricky to get to, i think when i changed mine i didnt replace all the screws as they were difficult to remove and even harder to replace. Good Luck, Mike

SOURCE: blower motor resistor has blown twice, why does

the blower could be drawing to much amperage. does it make noise? The blower has a ground somewhere that may be making bad contact. I'm not sure where the ground is at, but usually close to the blower motor.

2002 maxima fixed blower motor but still no heat

Unplug your hose that goes to heater that sends coolant into blower. Take a hose and seal it not the tube. Circulate the coolant out it could just be dirty or clogged up from bad coolant. That's free and 99.999% of th time this works.

Heater blower stops working

Hmm, a problem that I have not encountered before. My best guess is that some component within the heater setup is getting overheated and then it shuts off to avoid further damage. If the heater runs each time you start the car and then turns off during your travels, then this might be the case.

Secondly, there are circuit breakers located in the fuse box. These are silver and are about twice the size of a standard fuse. Unlike a standard fuse that blows once and is done, circuit breakers get hot and "trip". After they cool down the connection is made again. Look to see if a circuit breaker (sometimes labeled CB) is in the fuse box and serves the heater. You may want to get a new one.

Most likley your blower motor has a "dead" spot in it when you hit a bump it jars it to work. Replace the blower motor.

Had same problem. Replace Blower Motor. Over a 100 dollars at local parts store, but found online for half price. About 30 minutes to replace. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1431961&parttype=6916
6 screws to remove glove box, One plastic nut on kick panel and 3 screws hold the blower to the air box.

A/C and heater only works on level 4

you need to replace the resistor block or clean the contacts on the heater fan resistor block plug. find your fan and follow the wire to find the resistor block. it will have 5 wires coming out of it and be mounted in the duct work for the heated/ac. remove a few screws and pull it out and put the new one in.
