Question about 2000 GMC Yukon XL

I have no oil pressure in my 2000 Youkom XL

I had a sticky lifter so I added a bottle of Gunk engine cleaner. Then I changed the oil and filter. The lifter was a little quieter but I could still hear it. The next morning I started the car and I had no oil pressure. Could the cleaner have loosened something and clogged the iol system? The Youkon has 150000 miles

First thing: Check the oil level on the stick, do you still have oil indicated? if the oil has been lost, check for leak around the oil filter area. If the oil has been lost, correct the leak and refill. Second: if you really have no oil pressure, the lifters will ALL go flat very quickly. Do not run the engine in that condition. If you have indeed lost oil pressure, but not the oil, check the oil filter. If the perforated tube in the center of the filter has collapsed, it may cut off all flow. If you find this, replace the filter, picking a different brand.

Not likely. You may have clogged the oil pressure sending unit. Also check and make sure you didn't knock the wire off the sending unit. If not replace the sending unit. Good luck. any questions feel free to ask. Please rate me so I know if I helped you. Thanks.

Oillifter noise, oil getting sticky

Need to check the oil pump pressure or if there is a lag in pressure. You need to check if the oil lamp lights up soon after starting and if so the pressrure can be low. Also check the quality of oil , change the oil if this was not done for a long time.

BAD LIFTERS WILL MAKE A NOISE.IF VALVE LIFTERS AND LOWER SPRING SEALS BEEN REPLACED AND LIFTERS STILL NOISEY.EITHER ENGINE OIL TOO THICK OR ENGINE NEED OIL CHANGE + FILTER CHANGE.DIRTY OIL CAUSE LIFTER NOISE OR OIL PASSAGES IN THE CYLINDER HEAD STOPPED UP NOT ALLOWING LIFTERS TO GET THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF OIL.OR OIL PRESSURE TO LOW DUE TO FAULTY OIL PUMP.OIL PRESSURE SHOULD BE 29 PSI @2000 RPM. TRYING ADDING SOME SEAFOAM CLEANER IN CRANK CASE IF OIL PASSAGES STOPPED UP IT WILL CLEAN OUT OIL SLUDGE.GO TO AUTO PARTS STORE TELL THEM YOU NEED SEAFOAM.AFTER 500 MILES YOU NEED TO CHANGE OIL AND FILTER AGAIN. SEE IF THIS HELP BEFORE SPENDING ALOT OF MONEY .

Tapping noise at 3000 rpm on 4.0 litre 1996 ford explorer.Valves are quiet at idle and up to 3000 rpm

have the oil pressure checked. i believe the specification is 40-60 psi at 2000 rpm. sticking valves and lifters can cause valve train noise. weak vavle springs can also be the problem. try running an engine cleaner such as gunk motor flush at your next oil change. follow directions specifically. obtain a product designed to aid in cleaning deposits on valves.

I have a 100k on my 1992 wrangler i have a little lifter noise

If you have an inline 6, 100K is nothing! Lifter noise can be due to low oil pressure. if pressure is good, it can be from cam wear, lifter being sticky inside, or a rocker pivot being a little worn. Most just get a bit sticky (internal hydraulic plunger inside a lifter or two). To fix that I generally change the oil to a good synthetic, add lucas additive or marvel oil and just give it some time to dissolve the gunk. It took time to get that way so don't expect the tapping to go away instantly...Most times it will begin to lessen in a day or two or up to a few weeks.

if your saying you suspect sludge then you may have an oil passage clogged. Trying to use cleaners can actually worsen the condition if the passage was partially clogged and you broke a piece of the sludge off. Not serviceing the oil enough is the cause of the sludge if its got to that point.

2000 olds van 3.4l engine started ticking Top end? Started suddenly last weekend. 220 000 klicks. timing belt slipped a tooth???

sounds to me maybe a sticky lifter and not building up with oil pressure, try adding 2 quarts of clean diesel fuel to your oil and let idle for about 10-15 minutes,if the ticking stops then change the oil and filter, then it was the lifter not building up with oil pressure
