I got code p0685. i dont know what it means exactly

This is an internal PCM failure code . The only test is to clear the code and if it resets to replace the PCM. this is covered by warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles . So if you are under this its a free repair under warranty.

P0685 error - ECM/PCM Power Relay Control Circuit open

THAT SOUNDS LIKE LOW VOLTAGE. PUT A VOLTMETER ON THE BATTERY WHILE TURNING THE KEY IN THE START POSITION. IF THE VOLTAGE DROPS BELOW 8 VOLTS, THAT IS TOO LOW. BATTERY NEEDS TO BE CHARGED OR REPLACED & TERMINALS CLEANED. IF IT STARTS CHECK THE CHARGING SYSTEM. MOTOR RUNNING, VOLTAGE AT THE BATTERY SHOULD READ 13.90 TO 14.90. IF IT IS TOO LOW GET THE ALTERNATOR TESTED.

2004 headlights dont work

Does the car have DRL ? daytime running lamps Do you know how to test automotive electrical circuits using voltage drop testing . Do you know how to use a DMM - digital multimeter ? How to read an use a wiring diagram to find testing points in an electrical circuit ? IF not you probably won't be able to find the problem .
Electric Testing Techniques You Need to Know
Mastering Voltage Drop Testing with Pete Meier and Jerry Truglia
You will need wiring diagrams http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size . Under system click on lighting ,then under subsystem click on headlamps . Click the search button then the blue links . Check B+ voltage to the fuse's ,check the headlamp relay in the left insturment panel junction block . Do you know where that is ? Your owners manual should say .

Dies when you hit the brakes says low voltage to drive moduale

I would have generator checked for output. If that checkes good check for tight battery cable connections. Also there is a ground under the rear speaker carpet that may be loose or broken that would cause that concern.Hope this helps

Dying 1994 Nissan Maxima

have you checked the voltage at the battery terminals while the car is running,it should be about 13-15volts, 15volts absolute maximum and no lower than 13volts minimum. ideally voltage at battery should be 14.8 maximum when cold. when the car is at operating temperature it should be roughly 13.8volts at battery. try doing a simple load test ,turn on headlights with high beam on,turn on air con or heater, internal light, even hazards.if you have under 13.8 volts at battery give it a rev to about 2000 rpm and watch for increase in voltage at battery terminals using a multimeter. if voltage is lower then you must have voltage drop somewhere in your wiring,eg; wiring harness to all your sensors, relays etc. check all fuses, fusible links(usually braided looking wire about 100mm long) also check the back of the alternator with multimeter( positive point on alternator and negative on multimeter to a good earth on body or motor eg; a nut or bolt nearby.if you dont have a multimeter and or dont know how to use one, you can buy them pretty cheap from a spare parts joint with instructions for under $20:00,you can find tutorials on internet for free. hopefully this has been some help,by the way make sure you dont flatten ur battery too often, discharging a battery too much can kill it,cheers and good luck!
