Question about 2005 Audi A4

1 Answer

Misleading A4 Cab Tyre pressure

My Cabriolet is fitted with 205/55R tyres, the info on the label gives 3 separate values for one passenger depending on tyre size.
1 value for my size says front and rear should be 36psi. Another tells me the 33 for rear, 36 for front.
The only difference is that one of the two values for my tyre size has the letters 'M&S' following the tyre size.

Hope you can help

. M&S means mud and snow rated tites, this will be on the body of the tire.

What's the tyre pressure for a caravan with 185r14c on it

It depends upon the type of tyre, whether you have a single or dual axle as well as the weight of the van when loaded.

The maximum tyre pressure for the type of tyre you have will be listed on the sidewall of the tyre. Given the weight of a loaded caravan I would recommend you run the tyres at 2 PSI under the maximum pressure listed on the tyre for a cold inflation. If the maximum is, say, 40 psi then run the tyre at 38 psi. Tyre pressures will increase when the tyres are warmed up from running so always check and adjust the pressures when cold and purchase a good tyre gauge to carry with you if you do not have one yet. Higher tyre pressures within max specification, will lower the tyre's rolling resistance and tyre heat build up, places less stress on the tow vehicle and will give better tyre life on the van tyres.

Tyres are maximum load rated so know the van weight and make sure you do not exceed the load limits of the tyres (printed on the side wall) when adding weight to the van, including water storage.

Im looking for a tyre pressure sensor for my renault laguna 2033 plate but not sure what im looking for or how to fit one thank you

1. The tyre has to be removed to fit the tyre valve/ sensor unit to the wheel. . Tyre dealers will do this for you when you supply the sensor.

2. Any renault dealer parts department can sell you a new sensor.

3. The new sensor has to be programmed to the car's tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

3. Here is a list of information about the Renault Laguna tyre pressure sensors to assist you. The 2nd link below shows a picture of the tyre valve/sensor unit that fits to your wheel.

Tyre Pressure for Majestic 19.6 ft Caravan

Depends also on the kind of tyre.
For the maximum load of tyre nex kinds need next pressure , wich is called AT-pressure/maxloadpressure/reference-pressure , for up to maximum speed of tyre or if lower 160km/99m/h. This is not the maximum pressure of tyre.

Normal car tyre /standardload AT 2.5bar/36psi ( exeptions as low as 2.2)
XL/Reinforced/Extraload AT 2.9bar/42psi ( exeptions 2.8 and 3.0)
6PR( plyrating) /C-load AT 3.8bar/55psi EUR ( USA 50psi/3.4bar)
8PR/D-load AT 4.5/4.8 bar/ 65/69/70 psi
From E -load is not often used in Europe.

From this AT pressure you can calculate the needed pressure for lower loads . Made spreadsheet for it in wich I first add 10% to the assumed load before calculating.
Will give example picture

What's the biggest tire I can fit on a stock height 95 gc 2wd on 15x7 rims with no problems?

probably be a 195 ?/15. talk with a tyre dealer as the width of the tyre will depend on the bulge past the rim edge. If the beads of the tyre are not within a distance then the tyre will wear either on the centre of the tread (177 will make the beads be too far apart and so bend the centre of the tread up off the road regardless of the pressure) and anything over 205 will have the rim running on the side wall of the tyre resulting in tread wear or beads coming of the rims. I am thinking that a 195-65/15 will be the recommended tyre for what you ask but TALK TO A TYRE DEALER as tyres are expensive and the wrong size tyre for the rim will make you illegal on the road.

Popping of front passenger tire

Remove the tyre and inspect the rim for marks /flat spots and any damage that does not allow the bead of the tyre to seal properly. Next check that the tyre width is correct for the rim width . IF you have a 6 " rim and are trying to fit 225 tyres on it the beards will fall of the rim . If you are trying to fit 125 tyres on it then the side walls will sit up to straight and the tyre will fall of the rim. Discuss the optimum tyre for the rim with a tyre dealer and remember it is not a case of what you want but a case of what will fit the rim properly.

Hello, any pressure in between is fine, these are recommended pressures, i personally look at tyre wear when putting pressure, if its wearing on the outsides it means it has not enough pressure, if it wears in the middle it has too much pressure, as a general guide 32psi is used at most tyre shops, extra 100kg does not make much differance to a 2 ton vehicle, otherwise you would be changing tyre pressure every time you fill up your fuel tank!!!!

Thomas Heime is wrong, wrong, wrong! That is the max. pressure that the tyre can handle! the proper tyre pressure is written below the latch on the passenger side door. Open the passenger door, look at the label below the latch and there it is.
