Question about 1992 Mercury Cougar

1 Answer

Window mazda mvp 2000 driver window.motor seems to work,at closed window position if tried to open, you can do it for few inches and being able to closed it again.Howevere if you keep holding the switch, then the window stops in the middle. At this point the switch neither rolls down nor rools up the window but you could still hear the noise of the motor. with the help of one hand pushing up and the other hand holding the switch. it is possible to roll up the window. It is evident that wiondow is not 100% closed or maybe some how not in the right position because you could hear the noise of the wind while driving on freeway. anyone please can help me with this problem?

Take off door panel and see if window has fallen off the track. may have to replace window motor as it is part of the window regulator is inside the motor and that maybe what is out.

I have a 2000 Mazda MVP the windows won't roll up and when I hit the driver side one and makes a buzzing noise what would that be

It means that your switch is working ok but the regulator has broken and window motor is trying to roll window up but can not do so. Would replace the window regulator at minimum and motor if possible due to age and chance of failure as well.

Time for a new electric motor. The driver side wears out first because it is used most.

Drivers side window is not working

replace the window regulator/motor assembly...you'll find it at most auto parts stores here is a listing at autozone http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/2000-Mazda-MPV-2WD/Window-Lift-Motor/_/N-jermuZ9ck77 as far as the procedure, there are a few screws to take out and pop the door panel off, then the regulator thing is only a couple of screws...easy project. should take about 30 min. to complete. have fun!

Passenger window won't work using the driver side control switch

Open the window with the local button and keep the button pressed for 3 seconds after it has fully opened. Then close the window and keep the button pressed for 3 seconds after it has fully closed. This calibrates the position of the window which it lost when you changed the battery. Good luck

The sunroof on my 2002 VW Golf is stuck in a slightly open position (about 1 inch open). It goes back to this position no matter what the sunroof switch is pointing to. How can I get it to close/work...

try this first (cheapest remedy first) open the sunroof fully take key out of ignition shut all doors then put the key in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to unlock car(windows will go down)then wait 30 secs.then put key back in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to lock car, windows will go up and the sunroof will close.if the sunroof does not shut properly then we start with motor park switch.....

Try "resetting" your keyless entry code. Which is a fancy way of explaining that I broke my keyless entry key fob and had to order a new one. It came w/ instructions explaining how to get the new fob to speak to the car's computer. It was weird (turn key on and off 3 times, open and close door three times, etc. **I'm sure my neighbors were watching and laughing**), but it worked. I'll scan and email you the insrtuctions if you wish. Dan: dcarterlaw@lycos.com
