You have a short. It is in the switched part of your electrical circuit. Put a new fuse in and without turning the switch check to see if the map lights work. If they work check the dash lights and see what happens. Good luck. Let me know what happens. Please rate me so I know if I helped. Thanks

That depends on where the short is. We'll have to cross that bridge when we get to it.

    Same to you from Phoenix!

Any idea where the short may be if the #36 fuse blows as soon as it is put in (before the car is even turned on).

My wh statesman keeps blowing engine/bcm fuse. using bigger fuse allows it to start but blows again shortly after

Don't keep trying bigger fuses. It will only cause more problems, like burnt wiring that will need replacing, or starting a fire.
You either have an electrical component that is shorted and causing too much power draw, or you have some open wire that is shorting to ground by touching metal.
You or an electrician will need to look at a wiring diagram to see what all is on that circuit that is blowing the fuse. Then start taking one part of it loose at a time to try and isolate the problem. See any smoke or smell plastic burning when the fuse pops?

My 30 amp fuse to my electric fan is blown in my 1998 isuzu rodeo, will that keep it from starting

1st You should replace the fuse.
If you mean your engine cooling fan, then don't drive it untal it's fixed. It can keep the car from starting as a safety procedure so you don't overheat and blow your engine.

If you mean your A/C-Heater blower fan you can start and drive a car with this fuse blown
Hope this helps mike

Why my oil pressure raises while idle, then falls when engine is reved

Likely electrical issue or bad fuel pump which draws excessive amps when reving up thus blowing fuse and creating drain on electrics making oil gauge reading drop.

L999 Chevy Cavalier keeps blowing fuses and won't start

you have a SERIOUS electrical problem. - '.
BUT which fuses keep blowing - that is where we need to start.
1. is it the ignition circuit. - - does starter motor turn over when you trun the key.
2. is it the starter relay circuit.
3. is it the starter motor circuit.
4. is it the computer circuit. - - do you have fuel pumping to the engine and cylinders.
5. none of the above. - - do you have spark at the spark plugs.

Engine cut off and cant start

If the fuse blew at once, then you have an electrical short. Try disconnecting power lead to start, cover with insulating tape/electrical tape, put new fuse in place, and attempt to "start". if fuse does not blow then the starter motor has an internal fault, replace starter and enjoy. Keep me posted as you perform these tests.
