Buell xb9sx started cutting out around 4k rpm then it started running on 1cyclinder now it's down to not even running. It's getting fuel but the spark is very very weak can barely see it. Please help! Think it's the coil? Or some sensor throwing it off?

Try cleaning the distributor cap and rotor arm and replace spark plugs and leads. hopefully this will fix the weak spark

I have an ignition coil not a distributor. thanks for the advice though it started to happen then i changed the plugs and just got worse. Idk maybe i have a magneto thats going out or some weird electrical problem reading wrong in a sensor.

SOURCE: 96 tacoma 4x4 2.7 engine cuts out randomly, like

dont look for air when the car cuts out its most likley spark or fuel when it cuts out ranomly its usually a sensor or relay that is faulty check fuel pump relay and camshaft or crankshaft sensors but first narrow it down to spark or fuel if possible also if check engine lite is on check codes

Hi, did you check the fuel pressure regulator? A torn diaphram will cause these symptoms. The regulator is mounted to the end of the fuel rail on top of the engine and looks like the picture below. Pull the vacuum hose off the regulator and plug it with a golf tee. Then start the engine and watch for gas to come out of the regulator vacuum port. If it does, replace the regulator and you should be good. Please let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Pathfinder "cuts out" at 2,300 rpm

Replace your MAF, its a little pricey around $280.00 or so but this will clear the code but make sure you have the ECM reprogrammed to perform a "learning" sequence since sometimes the code will not clear even though the vehicle will run like new. This reprogramming will most likely have to be a dealer performed procedure.

fuel pump sounds to be problem, though I'd replace air cleaner first to rule it out cheaper than pump (pump may have internal filters that are blocked)
