Question about 2003 Kia Sorento

Snapped heater plug

I have a snapped heater plug on my 2003 diesel. The garage say they have replaced 3 but the 4th has snapped. They say it could cost up to £1000 to take the head off and replace it. Is it possible to have it drilled out and removed. Also how would it run with just 3 instead of 4, as it has only been running on 1 up until this week.
Not very mechanically minded so any help would be appreciated

I have a 2008 ford kuga 2.0 tdci 4x4 when its below 5ºc it will not start i have pluged a snap on scanner in and has come up with a fuel pressure fault any ideas ?

Diesel fuel tends to be sluggish to pump in cold weather and that is why some diesel cars and trucks have heaters in the fuel tank to overcome this problem. However I tend to think that the glo-plugs are not working as they should be. Have them tested . The fuel pressure fault may be the inability of the pump to pump enough fuel to do the job.

2005 ford f250 powerstroke, I can not locate the plug to keep diesels from gelling on cold weather jmo_101@yahoo.com

plug to keep from gelling??? no such thing..there may be an engnieblock heater that makes for easier starting in cold wweather, but this does not accomodate fuel heating. the power cord for the block heater is an option from factory, not all are built with it. howeer, all diesels have the actual heater installed. it is in the right side of the engine as i recall and will have 3 prongs stickinjg out that the plug would snap onto..this heater is in place of an engine freeze plug..the power cord can be ordered from your dealer for abouit $80.00 (US $)..as far as anti gelling, that would be an additive poured directly into you fuel upon fill up..i would suggest using it around 35 degrees f, and below

What causes a engine light to come on in a 2003 mazda mpv

It could be one of many things sadly you will probably need to take it to a garage so they can plug in a computer to find out what it is. There a number of sensor on the engine and it could be anyone of there or it could be something else. usually the manual will tell you to 'Stop driving the car right away' or 'take it straight to a garage' I'd either pop it into a Mazda garage or give them a call and see what they have to say!

About how much should it cost to replace the fuel pump in a 1998 chevy s10 pickup? A local garage just quoted me $900+, but a family friend says he'll do it for the cost of parts, ~$200.

Ford Diesel glow plug relay goes out every year since 1993

The relay should cost about $35-45. A common Ford Starter relay can be used in place of the official glow plug relay. All that is required is a relay with terminals that have 5/16 or 3/8 terminals and can carry about 150-200 amps. When all 8 glow plugs turn on, it draws about 150 amps is all. There are two relays for the 7.3 diesel. One energizes the glow plugs and the other energizes a heating element in the air intake. That one is used to help eliminate white smoke while warming up and is turned on and off by the engine computer. It is usually only called for when the temperature is 20 degrees F or lower.
Otherwise only the glow plug relay works.

Heater

Good call emissionwiz. It's right behind the blower motor, under the glove box area. Remove the shroud below the glove box, 2 screws and a snap-pop fitting. Be careful of the courtesy light. Remove the blower moter and disconnect the purple/black power connector to it - - you'll need this extra room to work with. 2 more screws, same size, 6.5mm on mine, 7or 8mm on some others, that holds the blower motor resistor in place. This replacement part is less than 40 bones at most parts store. Unplug, replace, re-install, test and you're on your way with about 2 hours of slow paced effort in your own driveway. Typical cost at a garage - up to $400, what a sham.
