You need to replace a part under the steering wheel called the clock spring rotating contact ribbon.

May be a starter fuse - but if blown, starter will not rotate engine. More likely a fuel starvation problem. Replace fuel filter in gas line - first choice. Next, have fuel pump pressure checked. If it has failed, you will get 4 -5 seconds of engine run before stopping.

Have the alignment checked on the front end.

Could be a couple of things, the pin that locks the steering wheel could be failing to activate.

Try one thing, with vehicle parked, key off, take the steering wheel and rotate it back and forth a bit to see if the wheel locks at that point. I have seen some vehicles require that. (Manufacturer would not call this a problem if it does lock up after rotating the steering wheel.) May have to turn the wheel as much as 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn. (OK, 1/4 a turn is a bit much, but hard to gauge how much rotation you are doing.)

Did you check the starter solenoid, or the relay? Also there is a starter or ignition fuse that may be bad.

that sounds like its the ignitionswitch is going bad on the car or its the ignition its self. it could also be a loose wire going to your starter.

The first thing you need to check is whether the key has a pellet in it or "chip". If it does...the problem is most likely your key lock cylinder. Go buy a new key lock cylinder....KEEP YOUR OLD KEY. Take your new lock cylinder down to any Chevrolet dealer to find out what the VATS number is for your key....then have the dealer cut you a new key with that same VATS number...then go to your vehicle and remove the negative battery cable...this does two things...1. It resets the computer after a five minute period of no power...2.. allows you to work on the steering column without power on it.

Remove the steering wheel with the aid of repair manual.

Put the new key lock cylinder with the wire running down the steering column. Then put the steering column back together....Hook up the negative battery cable, then use your new key that was CUT and your car should start

Sounds like the tilt screws are loose ,and will cause too much loose movement to linkage to engage ignition switcn.
